Greetings to all forum users! I would appreciate your help with a question that has come up. Recently, I found a domain on Sedo.com and I am interested in purchasing it for my loved one. The domain name should consist of three initials (excluding symbols) and I am wondering about the process of making this purchase.

1. My understanding is that the information I provide during registration on Sedo's site will be automatically transferred as the new owner's details after payment is made. Could someone please confirm if this is correct or if there is a separate section for filling out the buyer's information?
2. Additionally, is it possible to register on Sedo using different data (not my own) and use my Visa card for payment? We are both from different countries and I want to ensure the registration data and Visa information are not linked. Thank you in advance for any assistance on this matter.

1) It is important to note that Sedo.com acts as an intermediary and not a registrar. Therefore, the data for the new owner of the domain name will be the person to whom you transfer it. Sedo usually transfers the domain to your account with the current registrar or provides an AuthCode to transfer to another registrar.

2) To ensure a successful payment transaction, it is recommended to use the card associated with the Sedo account owner. Otherwise, payment may be rejected and additional verification may be required. While I have not personally conducted such experiments, when I sold domain names in the past, the buyer's payments underwent several days of verification.

As far as I understand, the process of purchasing a domain typically involves the seller sending a fax to confirm ownership transfer, which includes the domain registrar information (such as nic.it for Italy). While I am not certain about English domain names, the process is generally straightforward: you provide your information, make payment, and then the seller re-registers the domain to you. After this, you can decide on a hosting provider and continue forward.

Recently, I ran into an issue with re-registering a domain from one physical person to another. In this case, simply filling out a form with the relevant information found in the Whois database was sufficient for successful registration.

1. Yes, your understanding is correct. When you purchase a domain on Sedo.com, the information you provide during registration will be automatically transferred as the new owner's details after payment is made. There is no separate section for filling out the buyer's information.

2. As for your second question, you can register on Sedo using different data than your own. However, please note that the registration data you provide should be accurate and valid. Regarding the Visa card payment, Sedo accepts various payment methods, including Visa cards. So, you can use your Visa card for payment regardless of the registration data you provide.

Sedo offers several payment methods to accommodate different preferences and needs. Here are some of the common payment methods you can use on Sedo:

1. Credit/Debit Cards: Sedo accepts major credit and debit cards, including Visa, Mastercard, and American Express, for making payments.

2. Bank Wire Transfer: You can choose to make a payment via bank wire transfer. Sedo provides you with the necessary banking information for the transfer.

3. PayPal: Sedo also supports PayPal as a payment method, which allows you to securely make payments using your PayPal account.

4. Direct Debit: If you have a bank account in an eligible country, you can set up a direct debit authorization to facilitate payment.

5. Payoneer: Sedo also supports Payoneer as a payment option. Payoneer is a popular online money transfer platform that allows you to receive and send payments globally.

6. Escrow Service: Sedo offers an escrow service for secure and trusted transactions. When you purchase a domain through Sedo, you have the option to use their escrow service, which acts as a neutral third party that holds the payment until the domain transfer is complete.

7. Domain Financing: If the domain you wish to purchase has a high price tag, Sedo offers domain financing options. It allows you to pay for the domain in installments over a certain period.

8. Alipay: Sedo accepts Alipay, a widely used online payment platform based in China. If you prefer using Alipay, you can select it as your payment method during the checkout process.

9. Wirecard: Sedo also supports Wirecard, a global payment service provider that allows secure and convenient online payments. If you have a Wirecard account, you can choose this option for your domain purchase.

10. Bitcoin: Sedo offers the option to pay with Bitcoin for certain transactions. Bitcoin is a decentralized digital currency that provides a fast and secure way to make online payments.

11. Check or Money Order: If you prefer to pay by check or money order, Sedo allows you to choose this payment method as well. However, please note that this may result in a longer processing time compared to other payment methods.

It's important to remember that Sedo's available payment methods may vary depending on factors such as your location, the seller's preferences, and the specific domain transaction. When you proceed with purchasing a domain on Sedo.com, you will be presented with the available payment options based on these factors.
