Greetings!
There are still numerous websites and businesses in India operating without proper online identification, despite the fact that the country is home to almost 19% of the world's population. Personally, I have traded some .IN domain names this way but had difficulties finding end-users after acquiring quality domain names.

Considering that India is rapidly growing, I believe it is essential for every business to establish an online presence and make themselves known to the world. While I am uncertain if my approach is correct, I plan to hold onto my good domain names for 5-15 years.

I completely agree that there are still many available one and two-word domains to choose from. However, with India's rapid development, these free good domains may become scarce soon. As such, it is crucial to secure a strong domain name while it is still available.

Regarding the .IN domain zone, I personally would not invest in it just yet. While it may seem like a good option, it is important to consider the potential long-term risks and limitations associated with the specific domain zone. Additionally, it would be prudent to research thoroughly and compare different domain options before making a final decision.

When choosing a domain name, businesses should prioritize a name that is easy to remember, relevant to their industry, and aligns well with their brand identity. A strong domain name can have a significant impact on a business's online presence, credibility, and success.

The .IN domain address registration requirements are as follows:

Individuals are permitted to register for a .in domain in India. No requirements, documents, or additional information are necessary for registration. There is no extra fee associated with registering a .in domain.

Enterprises and legal entities are also allowed to register for a .in domain in India, and having a trademark is not required for registration. There is no special use policy for .in domains, and no other relevant information is needed for registration.

It's worth noting that private domain registration service is not available for .IN domains in India.

When registering a domain name, it's important to consider all potential requirements and limitations associated with the specific domain zone. This can help ensure a smooth and successful registration process while avoiding potential issues and risks

The Indian market is a complicated one with various limitations and challenges. About five years ago, I was following it closely, but I realized that it's not an entirely attractive market due to several factors.

One issue is India's ranking as the #1 country for scam sites, resulting in a high bounce rate of domains. As a result, cheap domain names are often used. Moreover, there are significant market restrictions, particularly for English speakers, as only two domain zones (.in and .ind) are available despite there being more than 16 national domain zones. This is because India has over 122 languages, each with its own domain zone, but using the copy and paste system is not sufficient for businesses.

Interestingly, many domains in India are registered by European and American registrars, along with the corresponding domain zones. This highlights the potential difficulties in trying to establish a strong online presence in the Indian market.

While there may be some limitations and hurdles regarding domain registration in India, it is still a significant market with immense potential. It is crucial to conduct thorough research and consider all factors when choosing a domain name and establishing an online presence in India or any other market.
