Title: Domain zones - significance when choosing
Post by: arthyk on Aug 10, 2022, 02:52 PM
Hello. Everyone knows the main domain zones: com and biz - for business, org - for organizations, etc. The question is: is it important when creating a site to allocate a specific domain zone related to the functionality and content of the site, or is it all only at will? And are the country-specific zones a generic substitute, or is that considered 2nd grade?  ::)

The choice of a suitable top-level domain name depends on the type of business, products or services that are supposed to be promoted on the Internet, as well as on the region that this offer covers.
From a technical point of view, various domain extensions do not affect the operation of the site on the Internet in any way.

Some companies prefer to use a domain extension .–°OM, because this zone is a recognized symbol of business and commercial presence.
Along with this, many choose national or niche domain zones to indicate their targeting or belonging to some area. In addition, there are a number of criteria that you need to know about before choosing a domain zone.

In most cases, people tend to trust their national domain. So in France the domain extension .FR is the most popular and does not cause users any questions.
Ultimately, the choice of a national domain name is determined by how the site positions itself.
For a local project, a regional domain is the best solution, for a global one, you should think about acquiring a name in one of the universal domain name zones.
