Using C++ for server applications as an alternative to Perl (PHP).

Have you heard that using a compiled language like C++ is much safer because the hаcker can't get the source code then? I personally practice using C ++, so it is important for me to decide - to use the C ++ language to the maximum for writing CGI, i.e. server applications or switch and learn more Perl (PHP)? ::)

 In my opinion, it is better to study PHP further and develop your skills, this will be a more effective solution. But, nevertheless, you can also study C++, who knows, maybe you will become the person who will discover something new in this area!


In general, it all depends on what exactly you need. There are basic libs for the web in C++. So if you need to write something not very complicated, then you can use pure C++ + something like FastCGI.
Otherwise, PHP would be a good choice. Python is also possible, of course, but it has a much smaller community than PHP, and it has been used relatively recently for the web on a more or less decent scale, so there is a chance that you will have to look for a solution to some problems yourself.

In general, I still advise you to look aside ASP.NET
