Title: Where to find freelance app-developers?
Post by: inaevrodom on Jun 29, 2022, 01:02 PM
This is something new to me, and I'm not sure where to find good, reliable app-developers. Ideally an individual or a group that could maintain an app over the course of time and add new features, security updates, etc as needed. This must be open source with the code published and available for all to review. This is important, and we'll publish the code, updates and revisions on GitLab.

Basically, just wanting an app created so that end-users of our new VPN service we're working on rolling out don't have to import configuration files manually and can more easily switch between service locations and select a couple other unique variables.

Where does one find people to do this? I've searched and it's hard to determine what is legit and what will give you a run around. I just want to be able to provide a simple mockup that I create that shows the general layout and features and have them handle the actual development of it.

I think Upwork probably has the best and most serious developers, but you can also find fantastic developers at Fiverr that can help you out.
Some of them for only 5$-10$. It's not always the price that counts.

I would say upwork can provide you very good programmers if you take the time to find them. Fiverr is more of a feedback based hire, so if you want the ''best'', go for the ones that have great reviews.
You can also post something on LinkedIn, I heard it can work to find great freelancers, but its a little more complicated.

Guru is a global network of over 4 million freelancers and almost half of them are listed in the fields of IT, web and software development. If you're looking to find a programmer to hire, you can browse the extensive database of coders that are available.

Everything is processed through the Guru platform. You can search for specific workers, or you can display a list and ask workers to contact you. All communication, agreements, milestones, tasks, and document exchanges take place on the site itself. Guru keeps payments in escrow so you don't have to risk losing money for unfinished or unsatisfactory work.

Remote.co is a site that promotes the remote working lifestyle. Some of the top companies in the world are promoting the remote work lifestyle, so websites like this are gaining traction very quickly. While we've covered sites with impressive databases for hiring programmers, Remote.co is more focused on the job listing.

You will find freelancers on Remote.co by posting work on your platform and the freelancer audience will apply accordingly. There is no interface to manage payments like a traditional freelancer platform. For this reason, you should feel comfortable taking the job into your own hands once you find the programmer you're looking for.

PeoplePerHour allows you to post projects absolutely free and attract freelance programmers. Freelancers who sign up are vetted by their moderation team to ensure that higher quality freelancers are selected.

Among the services you can hire are programming, DB programming, data analysis, software testing, mobile application development, and web development.
