I decided to register a domain for some site, the question arose of how important it is to have an ssl certificate. https.
Is this certificate tied to a domain or hosting?
And advise a good domain registrar and hosting provider.

Not required, but desirable. What is the purpose of your site being created?

The certificate is bound to a domain. Although, there are different types, but it seems that everything clings to domain + somewhere to subdomains.

Hosting - fornex or cloud4box
Domains - namecheap

The importance of having an ssl certificate . i.e. https. it directly depends on the goals. This certificate is issued for the domain and the hosting compliance is checked. And the main thing is that the domain registrar and hosting should be different offices.

What will the transition to HTTPS give you and your website visitors:
Clients' personal data is protected.
In an open environment such as the Internet, an SSL certificate protects communications between two parties. For instance, in the absence of HTTPS, the owner of a Wi-Fi access point can see private data, such as credit cards, if the user of this access point makes purchases online.

Security against unauthorized advertising.
It ensures that the information reaches the addressee in full and intact form. For instance, a restaurant, an operator, or any owner with a Wi-Fi hotspot can add additional advertising to your website or reduce the quality of images to save traffic.
HTTPS ensures that the website cannot be modified.
For instance, the some operators have repeatedly shown its ads on unprotected websites. Usually such advertising covers all the content on the site, and users can't stand it and leave.

Trust and status.
The SSL certificate confirms that the site in reality is who it claims to be. For example, the same Wi-Fi hotspot owner could send browsers to a fake site. HTTPS ensures that a website that appears as example.com , really is example.com . Some certificates even verify the legal identity of the website owner, so you know that yourbank.com owned by YourBank, Inc.

What does an SSL certificate give? Everything and nothing. If you rent a hosting for your personal, then you do not need a ssl. But if you are using it as a funnel to acquire a client or create a business, then SSL is extremely important. I'm not talking about the fact that Opera and Mazil are extremely negative about such sites (there will immediately be a red warning page about the lack of encryption). One way or another, but ssl is necessary.
I recommend A2, Hostinger and Blueness. There you can get a certificate absolutely free of charge, and they have good servers.
