Hello there!

Here's the situation - the client purchased a domain and is looking to purchase hosting on the same site. However, I don't have any hosting available on that site.

Now, the question is - should the client buy hosting for 10 sites in case they plan to host other sites in the future? Or should I convince the client to link the domain to my hosting instead? And ultimately, who should be responsible for purchasing the hosting?

Regulating this issue with laws is not currently in place.

Agreeing with the customer's choice of hosting is a common practice. However, some developers may offer their own hosting services, highlighting the benefits of non-standard Wishlist option and increased data security. It should be noted that responsibility for the site's operation on other hosting after the acceptance stage, as well as any additional support fees, would fall on the developer.

To ensure the safety of the customer, it is advisable for them to purchase hosting. This way they would have access to the site even if the relationship with the developer/administrator were to end.

Although the choice of hosting ultimately lies with the customer, the developer/administrator can offer their input. If they are unhappy with the chosen hosting provider, they would warn about any potential issues and could refuse to continue working on the project.

In this situation, there are a few things to consider. If the client is only looking to host a single site at the moment and has no immediate plans for additional sites, it may not be necessary to buy hosting for 10 sites. It would be more cost-effective for the client to purchase hosting only for the site they currently want to host.

As for linking the domain to your hosting, it depends on whether your hosting offers the necessary features and resources to meet the client's needs. If your hosting can provide reliable and sufficient resources, it would be reasonable to suggest linking the domain to your hosting solution.

Regarding responsibility for purchasing hosting, it is typically the client's responsibility. However, as their service provider, you can assist them in making an informed decision by providing recommendations and guidance based on their specific requirements and budget.
