Hello,

If I plan on expanding my event business to a new city, what would be the best way to structure the URL for the new page? My current website is successful in my hometown, so I am wondering if I should create a subfolder or subdomain for the new city, or if simply using a URL is sufficient.

For example, should it be mywebsite.com/icecreamshopmumbai.html for my current city and mywebsite.com/icecreameshoppune.html for my target city, or could I use mywebsite.com/pune/icecreameshop.html or pune.mywebsite.com/icecreamshop.html instead?

I think it would be an improvement to your page if you considered using the following URLs:
- mywebsite.com/icecreameshop/pune
- mywebsite.com/icecreameshop/mumbai

In my opinion, for the purpose of SEO, the ideal format for your URLs would be:
- mywebsite.com/icecreamshopmumbai
- mywebsite.com/icecreameshoppune

Having the exact search term "Ice Cream Shop Mumbai" in both the URL and page title could potentially help with search rankings. I would advise against using subdomains as this would require starting over with SEO efforts for each subdomain since they would be treated as separate sites.

I think it's better like this:
pune.mywebsite.com/icecreamshop/

Those. for each city there is own subdomain.

When expanding your event business to a new city, there are a few different options for structuring the URL for the new page. Ultimately, the choice depends on your specific goals and preferences.

If you want to maintain a cohesive brand identity across all locations, using a subfolder structure like mywebsite.com/pune/icecreameshop.html is a good option. This allows you to organize your website by location while still keeping everything under the same domain. It also helps with search engine optimization (SEO), as search engines will understand that the content in the /pune/ subfolder is specific to that location.

Alternatively, you could consider using a subdomain like pune.mywebsite.com/icecreamshop.html. This creates a separate website for your Pune location, which can be useful if you want to provide a more personalized experience or if you plan to expand even further in the future. However, keep in mind that managing multiple subdomains may require more effort and maintenance compared to a subfolder structure.

Using individual URLs like mywebsite.com/icecreameshoppune.html can be an option, but it might not be as scalable or user-friendly if you plan to expand to multiple cities in the future. Having a consistent URL structure across locations can make it easier for users to navigate and remember your website.

Ultimately, the choice depends on your specific business needs and goals. Consider factors such as branding, scalability, SEO, and ease of management when deciding on the structure of your URLs for the new city.
