I am interested in saving vBulletin 3.x.x mods for future use, but downloading them manually from the vbulletin.org website is a time-consuming task. There are 154 pages with a total of 3810 mods that need to be downloaded, and it took me 20 minutes to download just one page with 25 mods.

It would take me approximately 51 hours to download all the mods by hand, which is too much for me to handle. Therefore, I am seeking someone who has a large collection of mods or can write a script to download the mods automatically. Please let me know if you have what I need and how much it will cost me.

I am willing to create a custom script for you. Please send me a private message about your budget. In addition, I would require temporary access to a licensed vBulletin account to develop the script since downloads are only available to licensed accounts.

When considering installing multiple extensions in vBulletin, it's important to note that it puts a high load on the web server. Therefore, it's recommended to choose a hosting plan with sufficient capacity and budget for it accordingly. Although costs may be high, it's essential to avoid forum crashes due to an influx of visitors.

Additionally, there have been concerns about the security of the engine since the change of the development team. While the fourth and fifth versions receive security updates regularly, this indicates that developers are fixing security vulnerabilities post-release.

The task of manually downloading 3810 vBulletin 3.x.x mods from 154 pages on vbulletin.org is indeed time-consuming and impractical. To address this issue, there are a few potential solutions that could be explored.
One option would be to write a custom web scraping script that can automatically navigate through the website, extract the download links for the mods, and initiate the downloads. This script would need to be carefully designed to comply with the website's terms of service and to handle any potential changes to the website's structure. Developing such a script would require a good understanding of web technologies, programming skills, and knowledge of web scraping best practices.

Alternatively, if you're looking for an existing collection of vBulletin 3.x.x mods, you may consider reaching out to the vBulletin community or forums to see if anyone is willing to share their collection with you. It's important to approach this option while respecting copyright and licensing agreements associated with the mods.

In terms of cost, the development of a custom web scraping script would depend on various factors such as the complexity of the website's structure, the level of automation required, and the time investment needed for development and testing. If you choose to seek an existing collection of mods, the cost may vary depending on the willingness of community members to share their resources.
Automating the process of downloading vBulletin mods can significantly save time and effort. However, it's essential to consider the legal and ethical implications of accessing and using third-party content, ensuring that all actions align with the relevant terms of service and licensing agreements.
