Colleagues - is it worth the choice to change, or not to change hosting provider?

The website is currently hosted on a VDS with the following configuration:

Intel® Xeon® E3-1230
2 virtual cores @ 3.3Ghz
8 gb ram.

This configuration is no longer enough for the existing website.

There is a very attractive price offer to move to a real dedicated server with the following configuration

Intel Dual Core G2020
2.7 GHz, 2 threads, 2 cores 16 GB

Should I change it?
Will there be a performance boost?

Which parameters are missing from your resource? Processor, memory, disk (volume or bandwidth, io ?)
factually, from what you wrote, you will have 2 times more RAM. If on the old. Vds of its volume is not enough for you, then you should pay attention to that offer.
But I would recommend paying attention to the disk subsystem. It is likely (I will assume) that your website makes heavy use of it.

Yes, take the second server. Moreover, the RAM is larger.

the memory of servers has some features compared to the memory for ordinary computers. First of all, it is the need to use ECC error correction codes. If you use regular memory for the server without ESS, then either such a system will not work, or its operation will be associated with the risks of failures, which is unacceptable in corporate IT systems.
In addition, buffered memory is usually used for servers, which is equipped with an additional chip to perform intermediate operations between the CPU and DIMM module chips.

Sometimes server memory can also have design features, for example, it can be placed in low-profile DIMMs for better heat dissipation inside the server enclosure.
