Title: Should I set up own forum?
Post by: virtuatechnologies on Jul 11, 2022, 11:38 AM
One of the discussions expressed the idea that forums are no longer relevant and suggested creating public groups on social media platforms like Twitter and Facebook instead.

The question arises whether it is still worth starting or maintaining forums, or even acquiring existing ones. Additionally, it raises the question of whether it is suitable to open forum sites that offer services such as a new registrar promoting their services aggressively – would this kind of company benefit from having a forum?

1. The era of traditional forums has come to an end as people now prefer communicating on social networks. The tendency of showcasing oneself and seeking praise has also moved to these platforms.

2. On the other hand, specialized and knowledgeable forums are becoming more popular. These forums serve as a place to seek advice from a qualified community and share opinions, which makes them likely to endure.

3. In the case of using a forum to provide support and answer questions for a registrar, it is not useful unless it is this specific forum. This forum serves as a great way to promote registrar services.

A forum on xenforo centered around a darknet theme with a training center and the sharing of courses and earning strategies existed for two years.
The resource was profitable throughout its existence without any monetary investment. However, after RCN was blocked, the owner contemplated redirecting to another domain name but it took them six months to decide and by then they had lost interest and abandoned the project – occasionally regretting this decision.

Hi,
The forum is the right tool for expanding the site. It performs several tasks at once, but which you need to spend additional resources.

And much more.

The relevance and value of forums in today's digital landscape is certainly a topic up for debate. While social media platforms like Twitter and Facebook have gained popularity as online discussion spaces, forums still play a significant role and offer unique advantages.

Forums provide a more organized and structured environment for discussions compared to social media platforms. They allow users to easily find and follow specific topics, search for information, and engage in focused conversations. Forums also foster a sense of community and enable more long-term, in-depth discussions, which may not be possible on social media.

Acquiring or maintaining forums can still be worthwhile, depending on the specific context and goals. If the target audience aligns well with the forum's niche or if there is an existing active user base, it can be beneficial to acquire or maintain the forum. It provides a dedicated space for enthusiasts or customers to interact, share knowledge, and build relationships.

Regarding opening forum sites for companies like a new registrar, it can be advantageous if executed strategically. Forums can serve as a platform for the registrar to engage with potential customers, address their concerns, and demonstrate expertise. However, aggressive promotion should be avoided, as it may compromise the authenticity and value of the forum. The focus should be on fostering valuable discussions and providing helpful resources rather than solely pushing products or services.

points to consider:

1. Community Building: Forums excel at building communities around specific interests or topics. By creating a forum, a company can bring together like-minded individuals who can share their experiences, ask questions, and offer support.

2. Expertise and Thought Leadership: Forums can establish a company or brand as an authority in its industry. By actively participating in discussions and providing valuable insights, the company can showcase its expertise and position itself as a trusted source of information.

3. Customer Support: Forums can serve as a platform for customers to seek help, ask questions, and get support. This can reduce the workload on your customer support team and create a self-sustaining knowledge base where users can find solutions to common issues.

4. User-generated content: Forums generate user-generated content, which can boost the visibility of a company's website through search engine optimization (SEO). The discussions and information shared on forums can attract organic traffic and contribute to building a robust online presence.

5. Privacy and Control: Forums provide more control over the content and discussions compared to social media platforms. Companies can moderate the content, set guidelines, and maintain a safer and more focused environment for users.
