I am interested in replicating the concept of a particular website (or perhaps two). However, I am wondering if it is feasible to determine the load or resource usage of this website externally, without direct access to the hosting panel. Can such measurements be taken?

The primary metric for measuring website performance is the time it takes to generate a page. This interval encompasses request acceptance, processing, and response generation.

We can see that sites based on frameworks typically perform better than CMS-based sites. However, developer skill plays a significant role in determining site speed.

As for hosting, physical dedicated servers and cloud systems tend to perform the fastest, followed by VPS, with virtual hosting bringing up the rear in terms of speed.

To improve website performance, we can optimize the program code for faster data processing, implement caching settings, and upgrade server equipment for greater productivity.

Efforts to improve website performance can lead to better resilience under high traffic loads. Faster page processing allows for more requests to be processed and more users to use the application simultaneously.

One method to achieve this is through external monitoring tools and services. These tools can provide valuable insights into the performance and resource utilization of a website.

For instance, there are online services and software applications specifically designed for monitoring website performance. These tools can track various metrics such as server response time, page load speed, and overall server resource usage. By analyzing these metrics over time, one can gain a clear understanding of the website's performance and resource consumption.
It's also possible to use network monitoring tools that can measure the network traffic and data transfer associated with the website. This information can be instrumental in understanding the load on the website and its impact on the hosting environment.

Leveraging tools that provide insights into website traffic, such as Google Analytics, can also offer valuable data on user interactions and the resulting server load. By understanding the traffic patterns and user behavior, one can make informed decisions about the website's infrastructure and resource allocation.

While direct access to the hosting panel provides comprehensive data, there are various external monitoring tools and services available that can offer valuable insights into the load and resource usage of a website, empowering website owners and administrators to make informed decisions about their hosting environment.
