How many people are on the Current branch and have updated to V102.0.1? Have you logged into WHM yet? What are your thoughts?

I can only assume the team working on this haven't actually seen what it looks like.

When Paper Lantern first arrived for cPanel, I liked it. It was a welcome replacement for X3. Then its hideous replacement, Jupiter, arrived, and when first seeing it I remember thinking the page's CSS hadn't loaded, what with all the icons missing. It's not a typical case of getting used to something new, as I still don't like it, all these months later.

I can see why they've done what they've done here for WHM, to bring the UI more in touch with cPanel and the Jupiter theme, but it just makes administration slower whilst also looking pretty poor.

Not really a big fan on how, when you click an option in WHM, you get the new left hand navigation, but only if you do that. It feels like I'm working with two different themes here.

I'm also struggling to understand why there's no dark mode, unless I'm missing it. If you happen to be working late into the night, even with appropriate lighting, having a blazing white interface to work with isn't particularly pleasant.

Paper Lantern was definitely the last UI that was worth a damn (Before glass was introduced and icons removed).

I really don't understand the path they are currently taking with the UI in both cPanel and WHM and Jupiter is just unappealing in every way.

The whole point of cPanel was to make it easier for end users and administrators to do common tasks and they use to do a good job.

Now they're just making it harder and/or confusing for end users and introducing changes absolutely nobody wants or needs, all while increasing the cost of the product.

Uninstall or reinstall paper_lantern theme for WHM/Cpanel
Sometimes troubles happen with WHM / cPanel and I recently had some problem with the paper_lantern theme in Cpanel. Found a solution to that problem. I would like to leave a note for myself. I will tell you how to fix the problem with the paper_lantern theme for WHM/Cpanel. You can do the same with any other theme in cPanel.

First, I'll rename the old, non-working theme to:

# mv /usr/local/cpanel/base/frontend/paper_lantern /usr/local/cpanel/base/frontend/paper_lantern_bk
In fact, you can simply remove it:

# rm -rf /usr/local/cpanel/base/frontend/paper_lantern
Next, run the script:

# /usr/local/cpanel/scripts/upcp --force
This script will download the new "paper_lantern" theme for cPanel.
