Cloud hosting - who tried it?

I have a problem. My site traffic can increase 20 times in one day... but it will only last for one day, a week at most. The rest of the time, I'm calm...
I was offered a server - which I can't afford most of the year, but the server can keep all these loads for a couple of days. On the other hand, clouds seem to assume payment in fact. I.e. theoretically it may be more profitable... or not.

Therefore, I am interested in the real experience of who keeps the site in the cloud. All these numbers, calculators - they don't tell me anything Lol and I can't even imagine approximately how much I will have to pay per month.
By the way, I still doubt that I will use Amazon, everything is too complicated there.

Cloud hosting is good because it is convenient to use, especially if it is hosting with a well-designed control panel. It is not expensive, and for such a price to get a good hosting, where the site will not lie.
