Good evening! Unfortunately, we have encountered a major setback. Up until December, our website was hosted on Yukoz and had a paid domain. It was highly ranked on Google and led to an influx of customers. However, we made the decision to switch to a paid hosting service and change the domain name slightly one month ago.

We entrusted this task to a "programmer" who created a new Wordpress site and transferred all of the old site's content over. The domain from Yukoz was moved to majordomo and then an alias was created for the new site's domain. The programmer assured us that all links would be saved and eventually reindexed to the new domain.

Unfortunately, this did not happen as planned. The links were still pointing to Yukoz and not the new Wordpress pages, which caused the pages to lead to 404 errors via the alias. However, three days ago, we found someone who redirected all 300 pages from the old Yukoz domain to the new Wordpress domain. This has allowed the links from search engines to lead to the correct materials, but our rankings have been decreasing every day.

Additionally, the new domain has yet to be indexed after two months. google webmaster has not confirmed our right to use the site for the past two days, even though it confirmed other sites almost immediately.

As a result, we are losing search engine rankings and customers. This is truly a disaster! What steps can we take to remedy this situation?

In my interpretation, if a website was initially in top positions, then transitioning to a new domain requires careful consideration.
While a redirect is helpful for search engine optimization, it's essential to keep the old site active to check URLs' operability.

A better approach would be to specify the new site as a mirror in the robots.txt file and select the main mirror in the webmaster panel. This approach might have made the transition less painful. However, if the transition has already occurred, one can focus on improving the new site's search engine rankings.

For quicker indexing, share links to pages on the new site via Twitter. Ensure that the correct host is specified in robots.txt.
On WP, you can customize page URLs extensively, including /index/123/page.
However, if there are significant changes to the page content (not just limited to text), it could negatively impact performance.

To maintain and enhance the site's position, it is necessary to regularly monitor the site and its competitors' rankings and stay updated with search engine algorithms. Check information in google.Webmaster and Google Search Console panels and conduct technical analysis of the website.

Create unique, high-quality content for website pages and analyze the quality of the reference mass and growth dynamics, while avoiding "black" promotion methods. Continuously improve the website, adapt to emerging trends and seek additional growth opportunities.
Adhering to these recommendations can prevent sudden drops in position and avoid penalties from search engines.

Here are a few steps you can take to try and remedy the situation:

1. Verify Ownership with Google: Make sure you have properly verified ownership of the new domain in Google Webmaster Tools (now called Google Search Console). This will help facilitate the indexing process and ensure that Google recognizes your new domain as the official one.

2. Submit Sitemap: Create and submit a sitemap for your new domain to Google Search Console. This will help Google discover and index all the pages on your website more efficiently.

3. Check Redirects: Double-check all the redirects from the old Yukoz domain to the new domain. Make sure they are implemented correctly and point to the corresponding pages on the new Wordpress site. If any issues are found, fix them as soon as possible.

4. Monitor Indexing: Keep an eye on Google Search Console to see if your new domain is being indexed. If not, consider resubmitting your sitemap or requesting reindexing for specific pages.

5. Analyze SEO Performance: Evaluate the SEO performance of your new website. Check for any potential issues like missing meta tags, broken links, or duplicate content. Address these issues promptly to maintain or improve your search engine rankings.

6. Build Backlinks: Focus on building high-quality backlinks to your new domain. Engage in relevant online communities, guest posting, or reaching out to influencers in your industry. Backlinks can help improve your website's authority and visibility in search engine rankings.

7. Content Optimization: Ensure that your website's content is optimized for search engines. Use relevant keywords naturally throughout your content, create informative and engaging articles, and pay attention to on-page factors like headings, meta tags, and image alt text.

8. Patience and Persistence: Remember that it may take some time for search engine rankings to stabilize after a major website migration. Be patient and continue implementing best practices for SEO. Monitor your rankings and make adjustments as necessary.

9. Monitor Analytics: Keep a close eye on your website analytics to track the impact of the migration on traffic, user behavior, and conversions. This will help you identify any issues or areas that need improvement.

10. Engage in Content Marketing: Develop a content marketing strategy to create high-quality, keyword-rich content that aligns with your target audience's interests and needs. Regularly publish new content on your website's blog or resource section to attract organic traffic and improve your search engine rankings.

11. Local SEO Optimization: If your business has a physical location, ensure that you optimize your website for local SEO. This includes claiming and optimizing your Google My Business listing, obtaining positive reviews, creating location-specific landing pages, and including relevant structured data markup.

12. Fix Broken Links: Check for any broken links on your website and fix them promptly. Broken links can negatively impact user experience and search engine rankings.

13. Monitor Competitors: Keep an eye on your competitors' SEO strategies and rankings. Identify any opportunities or gaps in their approach and adjust your strategy accordingly to stay competitive.

14. Utilize Social Media: Leverage social media platforms to promote your new website and content. Build a strong online presence, engage with your audience, and share valuable content that encourages shares and engagement.

15. Seek Professional Help if Needed: If you're still struggling to improve your search engine rankings and recover from the setback, consider consulting with an experienced digital marketing agency or SEO professional who can provide tailored insights and strategies.

16. Review Website Structure: Evaluate the structure of your new WordPress site. Make sure it is organized in a logical and user-friendly manner. Use clear navigation menus, categories, and tags to help search engines understand the hierarchy and organization of your content.

17. Optimize Page Load Speed: Ensure that your website loads quickly. Slow loading times can negatively impact user experience and search engine rankings. Optimize images, minify CSS and JavaScript files, and consider using caching plugins or content delivery networks to improve page load speed.

18. Improve User Experience: Focus on enhancing the overall user experience of your website. Make sure it is visually appealing, mobile-friendly, and easy to navigate. Provide valuable and engaging content that keeps visitors on your site for longer periods, reducing bounce rates.

19. Conduct Keyword Research: Perform thorough keyword research to target relevant and high-value keywords in your industry. Optimize your website's content, titles, meta descriptions, and headers with these keywords, helping search engines understand the context and relevance of your pages.

20. Build Internal Links: Create internal links within your website's content, connecting relevant pages together. This helps search engines discover and index your content more efficiently and improves the overall user experience by providing convenient navigation.

21. Leverage Online Reviews: Encourage satisfied customers to leave positive reviews on review platforms like Google My Business, Yelp, or industry-specific directories. Positive reviews can boost your online reputation and attract more potential customers.

22. Monitor and Adapt: Continuously monitor your search engine rankings, website analytics, and user behavior. Track any changes and adapt your strategy accordingly. Stay up-to-date with the latest SEO best practices and algorithm updates to ensure long-term success.

23. Consider PPC Advertising: While you work on regaining organic search engine rankings, consider running pay-per-click (PPC) advertising campaigns. This can help drive targeted traffic to your website and supplement your overall digital marketing efforts.

24. Provide Value and Engage with Customers: Interact with your audience through social media, email newsletters, or community forums. Provide valuable information, answer questions, and address any concerns or issues promptly. Building a strong relationship with your customers can lead to positive word-of-mouth referrals and increased brand visibility.
