SSL Wildcard Certificates for Multiple Domains

Is there a place to purchase an SSL wildcard certificate for multiple domains? It is preferable for the certificate to be compatible with startssl.com, however, it is not suitable due to religious reasons for the client.

Our requirement is a wildcard certificate for four domains. The prices for other providers like godaddy compared to startssl ($60 for 4 pieces) are excessively high, which begs the question, why bother? Are there any alternative options comparable to startssl with prices at least two or three times lower for a certificate covering four domains?

Do you have any additional criteria beyond the number of domains and pricing? Perhaps there are specific features or security measures that you would like in a wildcard certificate. Have you considered seeking advice from a cybersecurity expert or consultant? It may also be beneficial to research and compare various SSL providers to find the best fit for your needs and budget.

An alternative approach to consider is to purchase a relatively inexpensive COMODO certificate with domain verification and calculate the total number of all domains (including 1-2 + 3 levels). This approach comes in handy since there is a rare need to protect 100 subdomains simultaneously, usually it's only 1-2 subdomains for each main domain.

On the other hand, you can opt for the more affordable Comodo PositiveSSL certificates that cost just $12 for one year or $150 for 12 certificates. Although, this option is more complex and time-consuming, it still saves money when compared to the $59.9 charged for two years of using StartSSL.

It is important to take note that while this method may be relatively cheaper, it will require more time to order and install the certificates. In conclusion, it's a viable option if the aim is to save money without buying StartSSL.

A Comodo certificate for up to four domains with Multi Domain wildcards costs $270 and can be ordered through isplicense.

However, if you opt for separate Wildcard certificates for each domain, it will be pricier, but we have attractive rates available as well.

SSL certificates are essential for securing websites and protecting sensitive information transmitted between the server and clients. It's important to choose a reliable certificate authority like Comodo and ensure proper installation and configuration.

Wildcard certificates can be used. Another option is to create a multi-domain wildcard if everything is hosted on the same server. In cases where multiple certificates can be installed, purchasing separate certificates is more cost-effective.

Wildcard certificates enable website owners to secure multiple sub-domains with a single certificate, simplifying the management process. However, in certain situations where only a few domains need to be secured, it may be more advantageous to purchase separate certificates instead of opting for a single multi-domain wildcard.

Yes, SSL wildcard certificates are designed to secure multiple subdomains under a single domain. They use a wildcard character (*) in the domain name field, allowing them to cover an unlimited number of subdomains. For example, a wildcard certificate for "*.example.com" would secure "sub1.example.com," "sub2.example.com," and so on.

If you have multiple domains that require SSL protection, you can consider a Multi-Domain Wildcard certificate. These certificates allow you to secure multiple primary domains as well as their subdomains with a single certificate. This can be more cost-effective than purchasing individual certificates for each domain.

When choosing an SSL wildcard certificate provider, ensure they support the number of subdomains and domains you require. Additionally, consider factors such as validation level, encryption strength, customer support, and compatibility with the web server platform you're using.

To find SSL wildcard certificate providers at competitive prices, I suggest conducting an online search using terms like "SSL wildcard certificate providers," "affordable SSL wildcard certificates," or "cheap SSL wildcard certificates." This should give you a list of potential providers to explore.

When evaluating different providers, consider factors such as compatibility with startssl.com, reputation, customer reviews, and additional features or security measures offered. Some well-known SSL certificate providers include Let's Encrypt, Comodo, Sectigo, GoDaddy, and DigiCert. However, pricing and offerings can vary, so it's important to compare multiple options.

Additionally, reaching out to a cybersecurity expert or consultant may be beneficial in finding a suitable provider within your budget. They can provide personalized advice based on your specific requirements and offer recommendations based on their experience in the field.

Ditch StartSSL's outdated moves and pivot to ZeroSSL or Let's Encrypt for ACME API-driven free wildcard fades - though paid tiers hit $10/mo for four domains with auto-install via scripts, RSA keypairs, and PEM exports.
It's 3-4x cheaper than GoDaddy's bloated bundles, sidestepping religious redlines while scripting cert rotation to dodge expiry chaos and boost your site's SSL Labs score without overkill.
