I'm not positive if this question has been bringed up here in the past, but I was looking at my past order history on GoDaddy recently and thought hey, that might be a fun question to pose here...

When did you get your first domain? How much was it? Which registrar did you use?

I registered my first domain with GoDaddy on 11/9/2003, it was a .NET for $7.65 USD... I was 16 years old at that time.

I still remeber the excitement of getting my first domain. It was back in early 2006, and I choosed to register it with NameCheap because I'd heard a lot of good reviews about their customer support. I paid around $8.99 for a .com domain, which felt like a big deal for me at that time. I was just starting to build my portfolio and that domain was the first step in establishing my online presence.

The whole process of registering the domain was quite interesting. I spent hours brainstorming names that would represent my style and the kind of work I wanted to showcase. Eventually, I landed on a name that sounded cool and was available. I still remember refreshing the page and seeing that it was actually mine. It was exciting but also a bit nerve-wracking since I had no real idea of what I was doing.

After that, I quickly learned about the importance of a good hosting provider, so I went ahead and signed up for a basic shared hosting plan. It felt like a mini-adventure traversing through the world of domain management, DNS settings, and website building. Each small accomplishment, like setting up my first email address and customizing my website, filled me with a sense of pride.
Looking back, that moment of registering my first domain really jumpstarted my career in web design. It opened up a ton of opportunities and even though I made my fair share of mistakes along the way, I wouldn't trade that experience for anything.
