I possess a domain name that has been renewed up to January 18, 2032. I am contemplating transferring it to a different registrar but I am hesitant as I am unsure if the transfer will incur a loss of an additional year.
 
Do you happen to know if after the transfer, the domain name will typically renew until January 18, 2033? Considering the current year is 2022, does this imply that the total duration of ownership for the domain name would be less than 10 years?

The minimum registration period is one year, while the maximum period ranges from one to ten years. After the registration period expires, there is a 30-day renewal window where the owner can renew the domain at the usual cost.
