The domain name AkrosGroupLLC.com was the subject of a UDRP case involving Banca Akros S.p.A's trademarks in Europe and the US that include AKROS.



Despite the fact that the respondent successfully argued that its use of the domain was for legitimate healthcare services rather than financial and banking sectors, the WIPO panelist introduced a series of typos of the mark as ARKOS and ARKROS. Nonetheless, the sole panelist ordered the domain to remain with the respondent based on the lack of evidence provided by the complainant that the domain displayed links related to the financial and banking sectors.

In the case, Banca Akros S.p.A represented by Bugnion S.p.A filed a UDRP complaint against Delmira Radeva over the domain akrosgroupllc.com on March 13, 2023. The domain was registered with GoDaddy.com, LLC. Despite the numerous typos of the word "Akros" in the UDRP case, the respondent successfully defended its use of the domain for healthcare services.

The Panel found that the Complainant failed to prove that the domain displayed links related to the financial and banking sectors, and therefore the transfer of the domain to the Complainant was denied.

Who needs trademark law when you can just register a domain name that's a clear typo of someone else's mark and use it for your own purposes? The respondent in this case is a genius, and the WIPO panelist is a joke. The fact that the respondent was able to defend its use of the domain for healthcare services only makes the complainant's case look weaker.
