How GoDaddy's Afternic to Uni transition affected domain sellers and buyers

GoDaddy's announcement of transitioning from Afternic to Uni required me to change any Uni-related nameservers that I use. I was curious about the domain names that were still using InternetTraffic.com nameservers and whether they would be affected.

As I had previously sold several domains, I wondered what would happen to them. It emerged that the new owners did not receive notifications about the changes, leading me to assume some did not care to update the nameservers after acquisition.

To check, I visited a few of these domains nearly a month after the deadline. Instead of displaying PPC links as before, they redirected to Afternic's webpage indicating the domains could be for sale. The top of the landing page showed GoDaddy's logo, and there was also a phone number to call.

If you are among those who missed the deadline by not updating their Uni-related nameservers, it would be advisable to double-check your decision.
