Click Conundrum: Bodis, Sedo, and Domain Parking

I recently acquired several misspelled domain names and redirected them to affiliate sites relevant to the domain names. Initially, I was getting 800 unique visitors per day, but I didn't see any sales. In an attempt to improve the performance, I decided to park the domains at Bodis, but the click amount dropped drastically to 40 per day. After trying Sedo, the result was the same. I'm puzzled as to why this is happening.

I came across some information claiming that Bodis might be involved in fraudulent activities. I understand that it takes some time for the DNS to update, so I'm hoping that Sedo will generate more clicks in the future, but currently, it seems that both platforms are not delivering the expected results. Can anyone explain why this might be the case?

I can provide insight into the potential reasons for the drop in traffic and lack of sales after redirecting misspelled domain names to affiliate sites and subsequently parking them with different platforms.

1. Trust and Credibility: Misspelled domains may lead to a lack of trust and credibility among visitors, which could result in lower click-through rates and conversion rates. Visitors may be wary of clicking on affiliate links from misspelled domains, leading to reduced engagement and sales.

2. Quality of Traffic: While the initial 800 unique visitors per day might sound promising, it's essential to consider the quality of this traffic. Misspelled domains may attract accidental or low-intent visitors who are less likely to convert into customers. The drastic drop in click amount after parking the domains with different platforms suggests that the traffic may not have been highly engaged or targeted.

3. Relevance and User Experience: Redirecting misspelled domains to affiliate sites may not provide a cohesive and seamless user experience. Visitors may feel confused or misled by the misspelled domain and the subsequent redirection to an affiliate site, leading to a lack of engagement and conversions.

4. Domain Parking Platforms: The performance differences between Bodis and Sedo could be attributed to various factors, including the quality of traffic, ad placements, and the effectiveness of the monetization methods employed by each platform. It's important to assess the specific features and optimizations offered by each platform to maximize the potential for generating revenue from parked domains.

Regarding the claim about Bodis being involved in fraudulent activities, it's crucial to conduct thorough research and due diligence to verify the validity of such claims. Additionally, allowing sufficient time for DNS updates and monitoring the performance of parked domains on different platforms will provide valuable insights into their effectiveness.

Your domains' traffic drop could be due to poor implementation of 301 redirects. If not done correctly, search engines might penalize your affiliate sites for duplicate content. Moreover, Bodis and Sedo might be using bots to inflate your initial 800 unique visitors, and once parked, the real human traffic plummeted.

To verify, use tools like Google Search Console and analyze your affiliate sites' traffic sources. If bots are indeed the culprit, consider using a service that offers better traffic quality control.
