Moz's Domain Authority (DA), Ahrefs' Domain Rating (DR), Semrush Authority Score, and Majestic's Flow Metric Score are all acceptance indicators calculated by third-party tools. These tools do not impact search engine rankings.

While Google's Mueller has hinted at metrics similar to domain authority, he has denied Moz's use of domain authority on social media platforms such as Twitter and Reddit. The company has also referred to what they were doing as "authorized domain," without a formal internal name.

In conclusion, domain authority does not serve as a ranking factor in search engines.

It's amusing that despite Google's statement claiming that DA is not a ranking factor, some people are still in denial or can't handle the reality.

Domain Authority (DA) is a sophisticated metric used to evaluate the quality of a website. A higher score means that the domain is likely to show up at the top of search results for relevant queries, while a lower score may signal poor-quality links. SEO professionals avoid such link sources. DA is not one of Google's ranking factors, but it has a direct relationship with a site's quality, link profile, and search rankings. Unlike Moz, Ahrefs employs Domain Rating, which assesses backlink quantity and quality. Evaluating website quality requires multiple indicators and metrics.

Calculating DA requires 40 official signals that fluctuate based on changes to input data, including the size and quality of the reference profile, the authority of individual pages, social engagement, quality content, niche features, and usability. A high DA does not necessarily mean a site won't be hit with sanctions. As fewer signals are used than in Google's algorithms, DA is more of a projection than a definitive result. Competitors are better evaluated using DA, as higher scores usually indicate more effective sites.

Checking DA can be done via Moz's Link Explorer, Keyword Explorer, and API tools. Website promotion generally leads to a natural improvement in DA.

Moz's Domain Authority (DA) and Ahrefs' Domain Rating (DR) are both metrics used to estimate the authority of a domain or website.

Moz's Domain Authority is a score on a 100-point scale that predicts how well a website will rank in search engine results. It is calculated by evaluating various factors, including the quantity and quality of inbound links, the overall link profile, and other SEO-related signals. The higher the DA score, the more authoritative Moz considers the website.

On the other hand, Ahrefs' Domain Rating (DR) is a similar metric that measures the strength of a website's backlink profile. DR is also scored on a 100-point scale, with higher scores indicating stronger and more authoritative backlinks.

Both metrics aim to provide an understanding of a website's authority relative to other sites on the web. However, it's important to note that there may be variations in how these metrics are calculated, and they should be used as general reference points rather than definitive measures of search engine ranking potential.

Semrush Authority Score and Majestic's Flow Metric Score are two more metrics used to measure website authority, similar to Moz's Domain Authority and Ahrefs' Domain Rating.

Semrush Authority Score is a metric created by Semrush, which is another popular SEO tool. It aims to estimate the overall quality and authority of a domain. Like other authority metrics, it takes into account factors such as the quantity and quality of backlinks, referring domains, and other relevant SEO signals. The score is calculated on a scale of 1 to 100, with higher scores indicating stronger domain authority.

Majestic's Flow Metric Score focuses on link strength and trust. They have two primary metrics: Trust Flow and Citation Flow. Trust Flow measures the quality and trustworthiness of the backlink profile, while Citation Flow measures the quantity of backlinks. These metrics are displayed as scores on a scale from 1 to 100, with higher scores indicating stronger link profiles.

Both of these metrics provide insights into the authority and strength of a website's link profile. However, it is important to note that each tool may have its own unique methodology for calculating these metrics, so there may be some variation in the results compared to other tools.

As with other authority metrics, Semrush Authority Score and Majestic's Flow Metric Score should be used as reference points to assess the authority of a website, but they do not directly impact search engine rankings, as search engines like Google have their own complex algorithms for determining search results.
