Protecting Domain from Sedo's Tricky Redirects

I don't get if it's any way to ban Sedo from using sneaky redirects? A lot of the websites have viruses, and this could really harm the domain. Is there a chance to put just a simple placeholder saying the domain is for sale, and that's all?
I don't use their parking services.

You should check if you can disable parked pages altogether. If you're not using their parking services, it would be best to remove any association of your domain with Sedo. Some domain registrars allow you to set a custom DNS to avoid any automatic redirections.

About your idea of placing a simple placeholder, this is definitely a good move! You can create a basic HTML page which says the domain is for sale, so visitors will see only this message instead of being redirected. Here is a simple example of what you can code:

<!DOCTYPE html>
<html lang="en">
<head>
  <meta charset="UTF-8">
  <meta name="viewport" content="width=device-width, initial-scale=1.0">
  <title>Domain for Sale</title>
</head>
<body>
  <h1>This domain is for sale</h1>
  <p>If you're interested, please contact us at [your-email@example.com]</p>
</body>
</html>

By setting your own page like this, you're taking full control over what visitors see. Just upload this HTML file to your web hosting or even use a free hosting service if you don't need anything fancy.
Keep in mind that if Sedo does not respect your wishes even after taking these actions, you might have the option to contact them directly and request that they stop their page redirects on your domains. It's also important to regularly monitor your domain settings, so you can act fast if something changes unexpectedly.

You have options for directing traffic to your Sedo sale page. One way is to create a redirect from your domain at the registrar or use third-party services for this purpose.

Alternatively, you could place a simple static webpage on the domain that indicates it's for sale, including a link to your Sedo order page. However, keep in mind that Sedo's fees on transactions could be on the higher side since they profit off of other people's domains. It's always a good idea to analyze the costs versus the gain when selling domains.

I've always believed that advertising could be turned off. When I checked my site in preview mode, all I saw were "Sedo" ads, and that seemed pretty secure. But now, when I visit the page normally instead of in preview mode, there's ads everywhere, and it's frustrating. Time to reach out for some help, I guess.

I'll contact support and ask them what steps to take next. Their chat feature isn't always functional, though, which makes things more annoying. It's critical to ensure a smooth user experience, so these ads have to be managed properly.
