Unexpected Issues with Domain Purchase

Hello.

A rather unfortunate tale has surfaced. I have been using regnic.name for buying and renewing domains for several years now. Generally, I have not faced any issues. However, it seems that something went wrong, because this week, an odd situation occurred.

Here's what happened:

On Tuesday evening, I purchased a domain in the info zone through their platform. The payment went through successfully, and the order status shows YES, meaning that everything should be fine.

HOWEVER, on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, and even today, the domain does not appear in "my domains" list. According to Whois, the domain is still available. Their support has not replied since Wednesday and is also unresponsive on Skype.

I have a question: how do I interpret this? Does anyone have an idea about what's going on with them? Perhaps they are in a crisis, went bankrupt, or shut down operations? Luckily, this is not an urgent issue for me yet, as I planned to buy a domain ahead of time.

It could simply be a technical glitch on their platform. Sometimes, registrars face issues with their systems that can delay the updating of domain statuses. This could explain why the domain isn't appearing in your "my domains" list yet. However, given that Whois still lists the domain as available, this point towards a more serious issue.

The lack of response from their support team is alarming. Typically, a well-functioning registrar should have a support system in place that addresses customer inquiries promptly. If they have gone silent since Wednesday, it could be indicative of operational difficulties. It may not necessarily mean they are bankrupt, but they could be experiencing internal problems or a high volume of requests that they can't handle.
In situations like this, it's important to remain vigilant. You might want to attempt to reach out to them through different channels. Sometimes, companies may be more responsive on social media platforms like Twitter, where they can address public queries more quickly.

If you still don't hear from them, consider looking for any user reviews or complaints online that might shed light on their current situation. You might also want to check forums related to domain registrations to see if others are experiencing similar issues.

I face the similar issue, but it's not about getting a new domain, rather it's about renewing two of my existing ones, and one of them is running out soon. I've already lost the payment, yet the domains haven't been renewed, which is making me anxiety. Overall, I've been with regnic.name for round about five years now, and this is the first time I've encountered a problem like this.
I really hope they resolve it quickly, as time is of the essence when it comes to domain expirations.

If you got some spare time, like if there's still plenty days left before the domain(s) get disabled, then you may consider to wait. It's possible the owner just took a vacation, and their account at the registrar might be out of funds, causing all orders to halt until they put more money in. They usually check in frequently.

However, if you can't afford to wait and need to renew right away, then your only option is to move it to a different reseller or registrar.

They took your money, showed a "YES" to lull you into false security, but never actually pushed the domain registration. The fact that support ghosted you since Wednesday and won't answer on Skype screams "we're either bankrupt or abandoning ship."

Whois showing the domain as available confirms they never registered it. Don't hold your breath waiting for a refund or explanation. Your best bet is to dispute the charge and blacklist this provider from your portfolio.
