I recently purchased a domain and registered it on dynadot, then ordered a VPS from elsewhere and installed the site successfully. However, after testing it from my mobile, I noticed that the site was down. Upon investigating the issue, I tried adding server names from my VPS provider to the purchased domain on dynadot, and ordered DNS hosting service on the VPS provider. They advised me to add the domain name and IP address of the primary service provider for binding, but I couldn't find the IP address on dynadot.

After being told by dynadot that they don't have any IP, I added the IP address of the VPS provider on the VPS itself. Despite all this, when I checked the site later, I got a response saying the server was not found. The VPS provider advised me to contact the owner .IM, who supposedly edited something 10 years ago, but dynadot said that this claim was nonsense and that the ip address servers were not found. It's unclear who is at fault and how long I'll have to wait for a resolution.

Do you have any experience with domain registration and dealing with these types of issues?

Could you please share the domain name so that I can take a look and see if there are any errors in your configuration? To set up your DNS properly, make sure to write NS records on dynadot with the DNS server addresses of your VPS provider. In the VPS provider interface, create A records and any other necessary records.

To ensure your site is functioning correctly, it's important to understand certain requirements. One helpful tool is the dig -q=ns command, which can display which domain servers are responsible for your zone.

From there, you can edit the zone to include the correct IN A records (ip of your VPS) for optimal performance. Additionally, it's always a good idea to stay up-to-date on best practices and seek out further resources to improve your website's functionality.

It's clear that you've encountered a frustrating series of challenges in getting your website to function as expected. The key to resolving these issues lies in carefully reviewing and configuring the various components involved, such as domain settings, nameserver configurations, and DNS records.

When you purchased your domain from Dynadot and set up a VPS from a separate provider, you took the necessary steps to link your domain to the VPS by updating the nameservers and DNS settings. However, it's important to ensure that each step was performed correctly and to verify that the domain is pointing to the correct IP address of your VPS.

Possible causes for the site appearing as down on mobile devices could include propagation delays in DNS updates, incorrect nameserver configurations, or misconfigured DNS records. Additionally, conflicting information from your VPS provider and Dynadot further complicates the troubleshooting process.

To address these issues, it's essential to methodically review each component in the setup. Start by double-checking the nameserver configuration at Dynadot to confirm that it points to the correct location and that the DNS records are correctly set up on your VPS.

Considering the conflicting information from the involved parties, independent verification of the domain's settings and the VPS configuration is crucial. This may involve using external DNS lookup tools to confirm the domain's IP address and ensuring that the VPS settings correspond to the correct domain configuration.

In instances where conflicting advice is given, seeking assistance from a qualified expert specialized in web hosting and server setup may prove beneficial. Such a professional can provide valuable insights and guidance based on their extensive experience in resolving similar issues.

Finally, as with any technical challenge, it's important to approach the situation with patience and a methodical mindset, diligently working through each step to identify and resolve the root cause of the problem. While waiting for DNS changes to propagate, consider reaching out to online forums or communities where individuals with similar technical expertise may offer insights and support.
