Frustration with Name Silo

Having been a loyal client of Name Silo for several years, I've been quite satisfied with their overall service quality and technical support. However, I've recently encountered a frustrating issue with their newly implemented 2-factor authentication (2FA) mechanism, which has rendered me unable to access my account. The system sends a 6-digit one-time password (OTP) to my registered email address, but unfortunately, it consistently fails to recognize the code when I input it into the designated field.

As a workaround, I've had to rely on the support team to open a temporary 2-hour access window, which requires me to be online at the exact moment they send the email. Alternatively, they've suggested that I install the Authy app on my mobile device, but I'm hesitant to do so due to concerns about the app's data harvesting practices. It's a classic case of 'bring your own device' (BYOD) security conundrum.

Has anyone else experienced similar issues with Name Silo's 2FA system, and if so, how did they resolve the problem? I'm facing a dilemma: either migrate to a different registrar or invest in a separate mobile device solely for the purpose of running the Authy app. I'd prefer to remain with Name Silo if they can offer a more user-friendly and secure authentication solution.

The temporary access window is not a viable solution, and the Authy app is not something I'm comfortable using. I'd recommend that Name Silo invests in a more robust authentication solution that caters to different user needs. Perhaps they could explore alternative 2FA methods like U2F keys or biometric authentication. Until then, I'll have to consider migrating to a different registrar.
