I wanna register a domain name, put it aside for now. Sometime later, maybe a year or two, I'll use it. Is it worth the hassle? Will search engines think it's old?

It's not entirely a waste of time, but it's not the most effective strategy either. As a domainer, I've seen people do this, and the outcome is usually a mixed bag.
Search engines like Google don't really care about the age of the domain name itself. What they care about is the content, relevance, and authority of the website associated with that domain. So, if you register a domain name and just let it sit there for a year or two, it's not going to magically become a high-ranking website just because it's old.

However, having an older domain name can have some benefits. For instance, if you've registered a domain name that's a exact match for a popular keyword, it can give you a slight edge in search engine rankings when you finally decide to develop the website. Additionally, older domain names can appear more trustworthy to users, as they've been around for a while.

But, here's the thing: if you're not going to use the domain name for a while, it's just going to sit there, collecting dust and costing you money in renewal fees. And, if you're not careful, someone might even try to steal your domain name by exploiting a security vulnerability or social engineering tactic.

So, is it worth the hassle? Well, that depends on your goals and priorities. If you're planning to use the domain name for a serious project in the future, and you've got a solid plan in place, then registering it early might be a good idea. But, if you're just speculating or hoarding domain names, then it's probably not worth the trouble.

I'd say it's better to focus on developing a solid online presence, rather than just registering a bunch of domain names and hoping they'll become valuable someday. Build a website, create some content, and engage with your audience. That's how you build real value online.
What's with the "maybe a year or two" thing? Are you planning to just sit on the domain name indefinitely? Make a plan, and stick to it. Don't just register a domain name and forget about it.

If the site's face be empty, then it have no point. It just make it worser. Then you'll have to upload some kind of landing page, ya?

Indeed, if you fancy a domain name, it's best to snap it up immediately. Afterwards, it might already be snatched up, and you'll kick yourself for not grabbing it beforehand.
