So here I go again, dealing with Sedo's games. It seems like it's going to last for a few more days. Yes, we all experience them – fake offers and buy now agreements that never come to fruition. And it's frustrating that Sedo actually encourages this behavior by providing a 7-day window for payment via invoice, even for Buy Now listings. I actually stopped using Sedo before because I kept receiving these false sales notifications from them. Is there a way to opt out of this misleading sales tactic that Sedo promotes? If not, I'm seriously considering removing all my domains from their platform once again.

I've been in this business long enough to recognize fake buyers, so I don't consider a sale legitimate until the money is in an Escrow service. Whenever I see a buyer from Kenya or Nigeria, based on the limited information Sedo provides, I can tell it's not genuine.

It's possible that Sedo simply wants to have a high number of pending but fictitious sales on their records. If they continue to allow this misuse of invoicing, then they shouldn't remove the domains from the marketplace. I did notice this morning that they had taken down the sale in progress from the resolving URL, but I would prefer the domain to still be listed as available until it has been paid for.

I empathize with the challenges you face as a domain investor dealing with misleading sales tactics on Sedo. From a web design perspective, the user experience is critical in fostering trust and facilitating successful transactions.

One of the key areas for improvement on Sedo's platform is the verification process for buyers and sellers. From a web design standpoint, I would recommend incorporating more robust identity verification measures, especially for high-value transactions. This could involve integrating identity verification services or requiring additional dоcumentation and proof of funds for buyers to ensure the legitimacy of the transaction.
The user interface should empower sellers with comprehensive information about potential buyers, particularly for Buy Now listings. This could include displaying more detailed buyer profiles, history of transactions, and indicators of buyer credibility, allowing sellers to make well-informed decisions when considering offers.

Furthermore, the platform should provide clear options for sellers to opt out of the 7-day payment window via invoice. From a web design perspective, this could be implemented through an intuitive interface that guides sellers through their preferences for payment terms, allowing them to exert more control over the sales process and mitigating the risk of deceptive or non-genuine offers.

In terms of communication, the platform should provide transparent and timely updates on the status of sales and payments, helping to engender trust between buyers and sellers. Implementing clear notifications and real-time updates on the progress of sales can significantly enhance the user experience and reduce confusion or frustration related to pending sales.

Sedo's approach to handling transactions is questionable at best. The 7-day payment window is a breeding ground for fake buyers, particularly from regions with a history of scams.
If Sedo can't implement stricter verification measures, they should reconsider how they manage listings. It's frustrating to see our valuable domains caught in a web of unreliable offers. If they don't step up their game, removing your domains might be the best option.
