I'm intrigued and curious to know the typical monthly earnings of a domainer solely on domain sales, without considering any projects or websites. For instance, if there were three sales worth $4K each in a year, totalling to $12K, then the monthly income would be $1K.

I am wondering if there are any domainers out there who would be willing to share their earnings and experience in this field?

It's worth noting that while sales and profits are currently modest, there has been progress made every year. As for this year, the total sales amounted to approximately $9.5K after factoring in taxes and commissions. The profit margins were roughly $750-800 per month.

This is a great topic that I've been contemplating myself - reviewing the year's outcomes. As a newbie in the domaining world, having only started in September last year, I've made some progress.

Over the course of several months, my expenses were approximately $500, while my income was $1500, resulting in a net profit of $1000. In my portfolio, I have various domains, including .DEs and .coms that I experiment with. My approach involves selling directly with aggressive marketing tactics. So far, out of five domains, only a few have generated a profit. The others either have some interest, but I'm struggling to find a favourable price, or there is simply no interest.

I'm eager to hear from the experts in this field about their successes and failures. I believe it would be beneficial to share our experiences and learn from one another.

It's insufficient to merely purchase domains and wait. In order to make domain sales profitable, active marketing and searching for buyers is necessary. Just waiting and holding onto domains like stocks may not always be an effective strategy.

My personal experience in this matter has taught me a valuable lesson. Around 10 years ago, I purchased over 100 domain names, held onto them for years, and never found the time to sell them. Eventually, I tried to sell them through a popular domain name store, but they remained unsold for many years. It was only then that I realized the importance of actively engaging in sales instead of just passively waiting for them to sell.

In reality, it's necessary to acquire several thousand domain names that are all high quality, visually appealing, interesting, and promising in order to generate substantial profits. In essence, it's a serious business that deserves dedicated attention and effort, rather than just purchasing a few mediocre domains in hope of a lucky break.
