Dear members of the forum, I have a question for you: Have you ever dealt with the domain webst.de? Right after the registration period ended, I initiated its transfer. I got an email with a confirmation link and the transfer was successfully confirmed. However, it's been several days and I'm still waiting for the transfer to go through. I'm wondering if those more experienced in this matter could advise me: Will the transfer actually happen, or will I need to renew the domain? And if so, does that mean I would have to pay for the extension first with the old registrar and then with the new one? Your guidance on this would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance! Can anyone share their experiences with domain transfers?

P.S. I hope the transfer process will be smooth and hassle-free, but any insights from your own experiences would be very helpful.

In your case, since you have initiated the transfer and successfully confirmed it via email, the transfer should go through eventually. However, the timing of the transfer can vary depending on the policies of the old and new registrars, as well as the domain's extension (.de in this case).

It's essential to check the status of the domain transfer through both the previous registrar and the new registrar. Sometimes, delays can occur due to administrative processes, manual approvals, or even technical issues. It's also worth checking if there are any specific requirements or restrictions for transferring .de domains, as certain domain extensions have unique transfer procedures.

Regarding the renewal of the domain, if the transfer does not go through and the domain's registration period is expiring, you may need to renew it with the original registrar to prevent any downtime or potential loss of the domain. Once renewed, you can then initiate the transfer process again with the new registrar. Keep in mind that you may incur additional costs for the renewal with the old registrar and the subsequent transfer to the new registrar.
It's crucial to communicate with both registrars to ensure a smooth transfer process and to address any issues or delays promptly. Gathering insights from others who have gone through similar domain transfers can provide valuable perspectives and help set realistic expectations for the process.

I recently carried out a domain transfer from one registrar to another and the process took about 15 days. Interestingly, while I had to pay for the domain in the first registrar, the second registrar that accepted the domain did not require any payment.
This experience led me to the conclusion that the payment location might not make a significant difference in the domain transfer process. It makes me wonder about the underlying reasons behind this and whether there are any potential implications for domain registrants.

When initiating a domain transfer, it typically takes around 5 days for the process to be completed after confirmation. If all the necessary steps are confirmed, there should not be any issues. It's crucial to complete the transfer before the GRP period begins, which is before the end of the AutoRenew period. The duration of the AutoRenew period varies depending on the domain zone and registrar, lasting typically between 45 days. However, there might be specific details to consider.

If a domain is renewed after its expiration, it results in the loss of one year of renewal, followed by a subsequent transfer. To prevent this, there are two options: either wait at least 45 days after the expiration date (after the extension), or request a refund for the extension after the transfer from the releasing registrar.

The confirmation email is a standard part of the domain transfer process, and it's likely that the domain will be transferred to your new registrar shortly. However, if you're concerned about the delay, I recommend checking the domain's DNS records to ensure that they're correctly updated. Also, make sure that your new registrar has received the transfer request and is actively working on completing the transfer.
With a little patience, the domain should be transferred successfully, and you'll be all set!
