I've owned a website since 2014 within the .com domain. Despite receiving up to 1000 visitors per season, it didn't generate any revenue due to my lack of experience. Consequently, I recently decided to abandon it. Additionally, the domain extension was missed, and it was subsequently intercepted by a savvy individual from France.

Afterwards, my intention was to revive the website. I am considering purchasing an aged domain relevant to the subject matter and rewriting around a hundred articles for the site. The website currently functions as a catalog of items without descriptions, containing approximately one or two hundred pages of genuinely unique content, with around 1,500 pages indexed.

How feasible are my plans? What factors should I consider when restoring the site in order to avoid compounding existing issues?

If anyone has a tourism-themed domain to suggest, I am open to exploring the possibility.

Purchasing an aged domain can provide various advantages, including domain authority and potential backlinks. When selecting an aged domain, it's crucial to ensure that it has a clean history and hasn't been penalized by search engines in the past. You can use tools to check the domain's backlink profile and history to make an informed decision.

In terms of rewriting articles for the site, it's essential to focus on creating high-quality, engaging, and valuable content. Additionally, conducting keyword research and optimizing the content for relevant search terms can enhance its visibility in search engine results.

Given that your current website functions as a catalog of items without descriptions, it's important to integrate comprehensive product descriptions and optimize the site for e-commerce functionalities if applicable. Enhancing the user experience by implementing intuitive navigation, clear calls to action, and streamlined checkout processes can significantly impact conversion rates and revenue generation.

When considering the domain extension, you may want to explore options such as .travel or country-specific extensions like .fr for France or .it for Italy, depending on the focus of your tourism-related content.

Furthermore, it's essential to prioritize mobile responsiveness and ensure that the website is optimized for various devices. This can improve user engagement and satisfaction, contributing to better search engine rankings.

In terms of content, investing in visually appealing elements such as high-quality images, videos, and interactive features can enhance the overall appeal of the website and keep visitors engaged.

Considering these factors and taking a strategic approach to the restoration process, it is feasible to revive the website and position it for success in the competitive online landscape. By addressing existing issues and focusing on creating an exceptional user experience, your website can potentially attract and retain a larger audience, leading to improved traffic and revenue generation.

To ensure a strong online presence, it is essential to write and publish twelve new articles. Allow sufficient time for these articles to be indexed by search engines. Following this, integrate both new and existing articles into the website. It is important to note that if the existing articles are not published elsewhere, there will be no penalties for the new site.

There is an online store that is around 3-4 years old and looks unattractive. It has more than 3,000 pages indexed and approximately 3,000 items.

The director is considering a new domain and a new website, even planning to change the content management system.

What is the best approach to minimize loss during this transition:

1. Creating a new website on the existing domain?

2. Developing a new website on a new domain and transferring the product database (product descriptions, pictures).

It seems that in both scenarios, using 301 redirects is necessary, right?

Wouldn't launching a new site with old content on a new domain be seen as plagiarism?

I apologize if I have somehow worded the questions incorrectly. I am new to this topic in general.
