I've got a domain for my TS3 server from freenom.com, but I'm struggling to link the domain to the IP address through the freenom DNS system. Despite the existence of a DNS record editor, the tool doesn't let me create a record.

After I set up the freenom DNS properly, I attempted to create a record, but the editor returned an error message stating, "Invalid name in dnsrecord". I'm at a loss as to what I'm doing incorrectly.

Creating a free account on Cloudflare is a great option for accessing their DNS servers. Conversely, the DNS configuration tools on freenom tend to be lackluster and don't allow for the use of wildcard masks (such as * .yourdomain.com).

It's unclear why the "@" symbol is necessary in some DNS records, and it's worth noting that while freenom may not fully understand all DNS nuances, they are typically able to accept empty values. As an example, the "*" character can be used to direct any domain paths to a specific IP.

Lastly, it's important to note that when entering information into the IP column of a DNS record, it's essential to input the proper IP address rather than any letters or other characters.

Freenom World's free DNS servers offer exceptional search services, with speedy access to websites and a guarantee of anonymity while online.

In contrast to many internet service provider's DNS servers, which collect and store data on your internet activity, Freenom World doesn't keep any personal information or records of the sites and IP addresses you've accessed. Additionally, Freenom World doesn't redirect you to advertising or other pages when you try to access a non-existent domain name, a practice some providers or public Wi-Fi networks may use.

Freenom World operates servers worldwide, enabling quick updates on domain changes or new domain names. The Freenom Anycast technology automatically connects users to the nearest DNS server, ensuring high-speed performance and website access.

This error often occurs when there is a mistake or typo in the name of the DNS record you're trying to create.

To troubleshoot this issue, here are a few suggestions:

1. Double-check the name of the record you're trying to create. Make sure it follows the required format, such as starting with "www" for a subdomain or leaving it blank for the root domain.

2. Ensure that there are no extra spaces or special characters in the record name. Stick to alphanumeric characters and hyphens if necessary.

3. Confirm that you're using Freenom's DNS interface correctly. Follow any guidelines or instructions provided by their dоcumentation or support team.

4. If you're still encountering issues, consider reaching out to Freenom's customer support. They may be able to provide additional assistance and help troubleshoot the problem.

DNS propagation can take some time, so even after successfully creating the record, it might take a while for the changes to take effect.

Path to glory: log in, crаck "DNS Management", hit Add. Field NAME = "@" (or "ts3" for AAAA hostname), TYPE = A, VALUE = 172.31.##.##. Click save - barfs? Empty cache, re-ignite browser; Freenom panels occasionally cache ghosts. THEN wait glue synch (<24h). Done.
