Our community of TF2 players in the Philippines is actively planning to host our own tournament server, but we're facing some challenges in terms of where to start. While a Google search for "Hosting a game server in the Philippines" seems easy, there are many details to consider, such as cost and server specifications. Although we have experience with our own games and PC server, we still require assistance.

To host our tournament, we need multiple servers to support up to 36 players each. After researching, we found that the average usage for TF2 is around 60 MB of traffic per hour. Additionally, a 10 x 34 TF2 slot server can work with specific specifications, including Quad-core Xeon 5410 2.33GHz, 8GB of DDR2 RAM, SATA2 250 GB Hard Drive, Uplink 100 Mbit/s, and Windows Server 2016 Corporate.

Although we don't have many details about the available games to us, we are considering hosting a TF2 server with 2 slots of 12 players. We looked into game server hosting solutions and found that some servers in Singapore cost less than $15, but we also encountered issues with some game servers using their service. We have not been able to find a reliable service to host game servers, so we may need to work with an offshore provider, such as one in Singapore.

I believe that running two TF2 servers wouldn't require more than what's necessary, but unfortunately, I don't recall the specific resource requirements.

On the bright side, you're welcome to ping the server and test its capabilities. Additionally, having a 1500MB uplink could help with getting a good bandwidth allocation.

If budget is a concern, a decent KVM VPS would suffice for running it, in my opinion.
