Hi there,

I've come to understand that Dynadot has a policy of deleting domain names in 5 days and issuing a refund, minus $4 for each .com domain. Do you happen to know if other registrars offer assistance with grace deletions?

I was able to receive a full refund from Namesilo on one or two occasions. They have a section in their management dashboard that displays previous purchases, each with a refund link that simplifies and speeds up the refund process.

I'm not sure if this system is still in place, nor do I recall how many days they allow for requesting a refund. I've only been able to successfully secure a full refund a few times.

To the best of my knowledge, there's no feature in Namesilo's management dashboard that allows for automatic domain deletion. They first issue the refund, and then the domain disappears.

From my experience, Dyna takes around 3 days to delete a domain while I believe NameSilo offers up to 3 days, and Epik (which I'm currently testing) takes a maximum of 2 to 4 days only.

Additionally, SAV charges a percentage of your registrations per month, with a maximum of 10% that you can delete. Therefore, if you plan on selling the domain before holding onto it, this may not be a suitable approach.

Cancellation of domain name registration is not always possible at the request of the administrator. It cannot be cancelled in the following scenarios:

- If the domain name registration period has already expired
- Within 30/60 days from the moment the administrator receives the right to administer from another person
- Within 30/60 days from the date of change of the registrar supporting the domain
- In case of failure to comply with the registrar's request to provide information and dоcuments within the given timeframe
- When restrictions on actions with domain names are established in accordance with the terms of the Regulations

Additionally, domain name registration can be cancelled if:

- It was registered in violation of the technical requirements for domain names established by the rules in force at the time of registration.
- The registration was associated with dishonest actions on the part of the administrator or made in violation of the rules in force at the time of registration.
- The administrator terminates the agreement with the registrar maintaining information about the domain name.
- The administrator prohibits further processing of their personal data in accordance with the Rules.

If the domain name is no longer registered, it can be requested for registration. This process involves the registrar submitting a request to the Registry to register the domain name after it is released. The person who submitted the request then becomes the new domain administrator.

Each domain registrars have different policies regard to grace deletion and refunds. Dynadot indeed has a grace period for deleting domain names, which allows users to get their money back except for a small fee, which is a common practice for many registrars, especially with .com domains.

Now, if we talk about other companies like Namecheap or GoDaddy, they also offer similar grace period policies but with their own terms. With Namecheap, you can request a refund within a certain time frame, but they may not always issue a full refund like Dynadot does. GoDaddy, on the other hand, usually allows for a grace deletion as well, but the fees can vary depending on the domain extension and how long the domain have been registered.

It's also important to note that some registrars may have a hidden policy where they issue a store credit instead of a cash refund, which might be a inconvenience for some users. So if you're looking to register domains, it's wise to read the fine print and understand each registrar's policy.
While Dynadot is transparent with their refund and deletion policies, other registrars may have more complex rules. Always ask their support team for assistance if you are not sure, as they can sometimes offer tailor-made solutions for your needs.

The majority of registrars adhere to ICANN's AGP (Add Grace Period) policy, which permits domain deletion for a refund within five days. This is supported by well-known registrars like Namecheap, GoDaddy, and Dynadot, though their policies differ.

Under ICANN's Add Grace Period (AGP) policy, certain registrars provide a 5-day grace period during which domain deletion is permitted with a complete refund. Many of them support this, so check out Namecheap, GoDaddy, and Dynadot. Because terms, fees, and refund conditions can differ amongst providers, be sure to review each registrar's AGP policy.
