The latest edition of blendOS, blendOS v2 "Avial," is available in two official variations, GNOME and KDE Plasma, and includes important enhancements and numerous modifications.

One of the most significant updates is that users can now install applications straight from the Chaotic-AUR repository and the system Arch repositories. Additionally, a new implementation employing podman has been introduced, providing new features like NVIDIA driver support.

According to Rudra Saraswat, the Project Lead of blendOS, the name "Avial" was chosen because it represents a meal made up of unique and complementary ingredients, similar to blendOS's combination of various operating systems' elements. The most recent release includes a KDE Plasma edition that utilizes Plasma 5.27 and a GNOME edition that uses GNOME 43.4, both of which are now officially supported.

BlendOS seeks to offer a seamless workflow environment, and the most recent release has made significant strides in that direction. Applications and binaries that are installed in containers instantly appear on the base system while avoiding conflicts between system and container apps using a priority-based system.
Support for Android apps is now included through WayDroid, allowing users to install them from their preferred app stores and use them as native windowed Linux apps.

The developers plan to merge the overlay with the main root file system in future releases to provide even more flexibility and ease of use for users. The newest edition of blendOS improves user experience by offering more flexibility and ease of use.

I'd advise against blending blendOS v2 Avial from Chaotic-AUR and Arch Repositories, as it may introduce unnecessary complexity and potential security risks. Chaotic-AUR is a third-party repository, and mixing it with the official Arch Repositories can lead to version conflicts and dependency hell.
Instead, consider using a single, reputable repository to ensure a stable and secure system. If you still want to proceed, make sure to thoroughly test your setup and monitor for any issues.
