VMware has launched its latest offering, the Cross-Cloud managed services, which aim to simplify the creation and use of managed services for highly skilled partners, with benefits for both partners and customers.

The services will be built on VMware's existing ecosystem of over 4,000 cloud service providers and are expected to offer profitability for partners, opportunities for growth and expansion, and help organizations to adopt multi-cloud services to achieve modern application development, cloud transformation, and secure hybrid workforces.

To address the challenges faced by organizations adopting multi-cloud operating models, VMware's Cross-Cloud managed services will offer prescriptive solutions, incentives, aligned go-to-market activities, and increased flexibility which will enable Managed Services Providers (MSPs) to drive growth, improve profitability, and increase recurring revenue, while bridging the IT talent and skills gap for customers.

Through closely aligned go-to-market strategies, sales, and customer support, VMware will offer prescriptive solutions that focus on specific customer goals, and MSPs will be able to leverage these targeted solutions to create customized Validated Service Offerings, enabling them to provide unique and differentiated services.

VMware's Cross-Cloud managed services will include solutions for Hybrid Cloud, Native Public Cloud, and Modern Apps, and Partners will utilize VMware Cloud on AWS or new VMware Cloud Packs to build these services. The services will offer several benefits such as reduced total cost of ownership, simplified operations, improved observability, faster cloud migrations, centralized governance, and cost control.

VMware has introduced three Cross-Cloud managed services named Centralized Governance, Cost Optimization, and Cloud Native App Delivery powered by VMware Aria and VMware Tanzu. The new VMware Cross-Cloud managed services badge will enable partners to showcase their expertise in delivering VMware validated managed services offerings (VSOs) and validate their achievement of the upcoming VMware managed services specialization (MSS).

Partners can differentiate themselves and gain more market recognition and profitability through the badge. VMware is offering improved incentives to Cross-Cloud managed services providers through the badged partner program. Badged partners can earn up to 40% more rewards for providing assessments and proofs-of-concept, and up to 100% more than non-badged partners for deployment services. Additionally, they also get more back-end rebates for selling VMware Cross-Cloud managed services via the new Sell incentive in Partner Connect.

VMware is also introducing a "Bring Your Own Subscription" option that allows customers to use their existing VMware subscriptions in VMware Cross-Cloud managed services provider environments. This option will provide customers with greater flexibility to leverage their subscriptions and take advantage of the support and expertise offered by qualified VMware partners.

VMware is launching a new co-selling program to help managed service providers generate demand and enable them in selling and closing activities, and to provide support. Partners will get even more deal protection on SaaS-related sales, making business easier.

VMware Cross-Cloud also provides organizations with the flexibility to leverage different cloud providers based on their specific needs and requirements. This enables them to choose the most cost-effective cloud services for their workloads, helping to optimize costs.

In addition, VMware Cross-Cloud offers built-in security features to help protect organizations' on-premises environments. These features include network segmentation, encryption, and access controls, which can reduce the risk of security breaches and potential financial losses associated with data breaches.

Furthermore, VMware Cross-Cloud includes advanced monitoring and analytics capabilities. These tools provide insights into resource usage, performance, and capacity, allowing organizations to identify areas for optimization and cost reduction. By proactively monitoring and managing their on-premises environments, organizations can avoid unnecessary expenses and ensure efficient operations.

Finally, VMware Cross-Cloud integrates with popular management and automation platforms, providing a unified view and control over both on-premises and cloud resources. This integration streamlines operations and reduces the need for separate management tools, leading to cost savings and increased operational efficiency.

details about how VMware Cross-Cloud reduces total cost of ownership for on-premises environments:

1. Infrastructure Optimization: VMware Cross-Cloud helps organizations optimize their on-premises infrastructure by providing tools for workload management, capacity planning, and resource optimization. This ensures that resources are utilized efficiently and reduces the need for overprovisioning, resulting in significant cost savings.

2. Simplified Operations: The unified interface and management capabilities of VMware Cross-Cloud simplify operations across on-premises and cloud environments. It provides a consistent operational model, enabling IT teams to manage applications and workloads using common tools and processes. This simplification reduces complexity and training costs while improving operational efficiency.

3. Automation: VMware Cross-Cloud includes automation capabilities that help streamline operations and reduce manual effort. By automating repetitive tasks such as provisioning, scaling, and configuration management, organizations can save time and resources, leading to cost savings.

4. Vendor Flexibility: With VMware Cross-Cloud, organizations have the flexibility to choose the most cost-effective cloud providers based on their specific needs. It supports multiple cloud platforms, allowing organizations to leverage the provider with the most competitive pricing, which can lower overall costs.

5. Enhanced Security: VMware Cross-Cloud offers robust security features, including encryption, access controls, and advanced threat detection. By protecting on-premises environments against cyber threats and data breaches, organizations can prevent potentially costly security incidents and minimize financial losses associated with data breaches.

6. License Optimization: VMware Cross-Cloud helps organizations optimize software licensing costs by providing visibility into license usage and compliance. This enables organizations to avoid over-purchasing licenses and reduce unnecessary licensing costs, resulting in significant savings.
