Hello everyone!

Our company's objective is to train an employee for the position of a 1c Bitrix programmer to handle website maintenance, development, and refinement tasks. We have a Bitrix website that will be launched soon, and we need a staff member who can independently work on it with knowledge of html, css, Bitrix administration, hosting, domains, mail, and some understanding of php and mysql.

It's impossible to become a Bitrix developer without knowledge of programming languages such as php. Therefore, it's necessary to study a similar course like the ones offered by geekbrains, which are relatively short in duration. Once equipped with these skills, we can move on to learning Bitrix programming personally.

Considering this, we would appreciate your advice. The company is willing to pay for the required courses and is interested in remote training since we are based in St. Petersburg. However, finding a successful programmer is not the goal; our task is to teach.

There are a lot of online php courses that take 6-8 weeks to complete. Is it possible to learn something in such a short period?

Thank you all!

I can comprehend if you were searching for particular, maybe even rare, services that only few experts can provide. However, Bitrix doesn't belong to this category.

It wouldn't be wise to expect smooth sailing and constant improvement of support if you decide to hire a fresh graduate right after completing their courses.

If you invest time and money into training a person to perform tasks that can be easily learned through practice, then it's possible that the person won't need your offer in the future.

Additionally, delaying the launch of a project based on the premise of "raising your own specialist" may not be entirely justifiable. It's often more efficient to rely on those who are already skilled in the necessary areas - for example, the developer of a website will likely be better equipped to handle any issues that may arise.

If someone has completed a computer science program or has experience in programming, 8 weeks may be enough time to learn Bitrix. However, if not, they may struggle and encounter errors in their coding. Unfortunately, Bitrix is notoriously difficult to work with due to its outdated and complex code, which could discourage someone from pursuing a career in programming.

Learning any programming language requires dedication and practice, but Bitrix presents a unique challenge for beginners. It's important to have patience and seek support from experienced programmers in order to succeed.

Learning PHP within a relatively short course duration requires a focused and dedicated approach. The course should cover fundamental concepts such as syntax, data types, control structures, functions, and object-oriented programming. Practical exercises and real-world application of learned concepts are essential for solidifying the understanding of PHP.

Transitioning to Bitrix development involves not only understanding PHP but also acquiring knowledge of the Bitrix framework, its APIs, and best practices for website development and maintenance. Remote training can be effective if it includes interactive sessions, practical assignments, and mentorship from experienced Bitrix developers.

From a more technical perspective, the key to successful learning is engaging with real-world projects and experimenting with PHP to apply the learned concepts. This may involve creating small web applications, working with databases, and understanding how PHP integrates with web development tools and frameworks.

Furthermore, it's crucial to select courses that focus not only on PHP itself but also on topics relevant to Bitrix development, such as database interactions, server-side scripting, and security considerations. Specialized courses in Bitrix administration, customization, and module development can further expedite the employee's readiness to work on the company's Bitrix website.

While initial courses can provide fundamental knowledge, practical experience, ongoing mentorship, and support from industry professionals are essential for honing the skills required for real-world Bitrix development. Encouraging the employee to engage with Bitrix's official dоcumentation, participate in online communities, and work on small, independent projects can further solidify their expertise.
While becoming an expert in such a short timeframe is challenging, with a well-structured learning plan, dedicated effort, and ongoing support and mentorship, significant progress can be made in equipping an employee with the necessary skills for successful Bitrix development.
