The Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) highlights that EPR authorization is a requisite for all manufacturers of electronic equipment, as per the e-waste management regulations of 2016. Interestingly, India was among the first countries to introduce EPR back in 2012 - a step taken to combat the rapidly increasing e-waste.

However, it's not just limited to electronic waste anymore. Manufacturers of plastic and plastic products are also obligated to obtain EPR authorization.
