Hello there!

Recently, I made a choice to acquire a domain in the .pw domain zone. After confirming its availability, I proceeded to make the purchase through onlydomains.com, as I had previously used this registrar for another domain.

After successfully completing the purchase, I unexpectedly received a notification denying the registration of the domain. It seems that they may have decided to reclassify it as a premium domain. Can one really be denied a purchase after payment has been made? Additionally, it's worth noting that the refund for the purchase has not been processed yet...

It's important to recognize that the domain industry operates within a dynamic and competitive landscape. Registrars may reclassify domains as premium based on various factors, including the domain's perceived market value, keyword relevance, or potential for high demand. This reclassification can occur after the initial availability check and purchase, leading to unexpected denials and adjustments in pricing.

The delay in processing the refund further compounds the issue, as it creates a sense of uncertainty and adds to the frustration of the overall experience. As a marketer, I would advise reaching out to the registrar's customer support to seek clarification on the status of the refund and to express your concern over the lack of transparency in the process. Clear and proactive communication can be essential in resolving the issue and gaining insights into the steps necessary to secure the refund.

When considering the potential purchase of a reclassified premium domain, it's important to evaluate the domain's significance to your online presence or brand. Assessing its potential impact on your digital marketing strategies, search engine optimization, and overall brand identity can provide guidance on whether the premium price aligns with the domain's value to your business objectives.

Additionally, exploring alternative domain options within the .pw domain zone or other domain extensions can present viable opportunities to achieve your online goals while bypassing the challenges associated with a reclassified premium domain.

The domain purchase might be denied, despite prior payment. Based on the response, it seems the domain is not in the premium category, but rather in the banned list. It's possible that the website you used to check the domain's availability is unaware of how to access this list.

Consider requesting a refund.

Why did you decide to sign up there?

The cost of .PW is $6.99, whereas numerous domains are available for 2-3 dollars on .PW.

If it's a premium domain, they might reject it. Just activate the domain, it doesn't belong to you anyway.

When you get back, deal only with the person who received payment. What's the use of debating this here?
