Does Engine Choice Matter for SEO?

When designing a tourist portal, I had to choose an engine. Although I'm inclined towards Bitrix, I have no experience with website promotion on this CMS. Majority of my top-ranked sites on search engines are self-written, and there are no sites on Bitrix.

Someone mentioned that it's more challenging to promote a Bitrix site to the TOP than a self-written one. While I understand that promotion depends on various factors other than the engine, I'm curious if search engines consider how the site was created (on the engine or self-written). How do search engines treat sites on Bitrix? Is there a possibility that this factor will be taken into account in the future, if it's not being considered right now by search engines?

From my experience, I've learned that search engine optimization involves many variables. Thus, it is essential to keep exploring and evaluating different strategies to improve the ranking of a website.

The variation in search engines lies in their level of consideration towards SEO. Some engines prioritize it while others don't even bother.
However, all search engines can be customized to fit individual needs. It's important to note that search engines do not assess what's under the surface of your website; rather, they focus on site content, structure, and semantics. This practice is commonly referred to as SEO.

In terms of technicalities, there is indeed a distinction. For instance, promoting a Joomla-based website can be more challenging due to the CMS generating numerous duplicate pages that negatively impact its ranking.

However, in your case, there is no need to fret. With Bitrix, everything is perfectly fine.

Overall, the internet is teeming with websites written in uCoz that rank high in both low and high frequency, yet nobody seems to make a big fuss about it.

The difference, as you have observed, lies in adapting CMS to search engine perception. The first notable aspect is the URL and the issue of duplicate generation, which can be a nightmare when using Joomla. However, I have personally promoted a self-written site for a year and a half without SEO optimization and faced difficulties because of it. If tested for SEO, self-written CMS can be effective. Alternatively, Bitrix is a valuable option that offers numerous SEO modules to cater to different needs, and it is easy to configure. The only drawback is the relatively higher cost compared to other CMS.

While self-written CMS can be effective if optimized for SEO, Joomla does not handle duplicate generation well. Bitrix, on the other hand, is an excellent choice with numerous SEO modules and easy configuration. It may come at a higher price point, but the investment is worthwhile for ensuring better site visibility.

Yes, the choice of website engine or content management system (CMS) can have an impact on SEO (Search Engine Optimization). Different website engines have varying features, capabilities, and structures that can influence how search engines crawl, index, and rank your website. Here are a few factors to consider:

Technical SEO: Some website engines are built with SEO-friendly features, such as clean URL structures, customizable metadata, and optimized page speed. These technical aspects play a role in search engine rankings and user experience.

Mobile-Friendliness: With the increasing emphasis on mobile devices, having a responsive website that adapts to different screen sizes is crucial for SEO. Some CMS platforms have mobile-friendly templates and built-in responsive design capabilities, making it easier to ensure a mobile-friendly experience.

SEO Plugins/Extensions: Many popular CMS platforms offer SEO plugins or extensions that provide additional SEO functionality. These plugins can help optimize content, generate XML sitemaps, manage meta tags, and handle other SEO-related tasks more efficiently.

User-Friendliness: The usability and user-friendliness of a CMS can indirectly impact SEO. A user-friendly CMS enables website owners and content creators to easily update and optimize their content, which can positively affect search engine rankings over time.

Developer Community and Support: Choosing a CMS with an active developer community and strong support can be beneficial. Regular updates, security patches, and access to technical assistance can contribute to the overall health and performance of your website, which can impact SEO.

It's important to note that while the choice of CMS can influence SEO, it is not the sole determinant of search engine rankings. Content quality, relevance, backlinks, and other SEO factors are also critical for success.

Search engines primarily focus on the content, structure, and user experience of a website rather than the specific CMS used. Whether a site is built on Bitrix, another CMS, or self-written, what matters most for SEO is quality content, proper site structure, mobile-friendliness, loading speed, and secure connections. While some CMSs might make certain SEO tasks easier or harder, the CMS itself generally isn't a direct ranking factor. Therefore, you can certainly achieve good SEO results with a Bitrix-based website, provided you follow good SEO practices.

When it comes to website promotion and search engine optimization (SEO), the choice of the CMS (Content Management System) like Bitrix or self-written code is not a direct ranking factor considered by search engines. Search engines primarily evaluate the content, relevancy, user experience, and various technical aspects of websites to determine their rankings.

Having a self-written website or using a popular CMS like Bitrix does not inherently affect a site's SEO potential. It's important to focus on implementing SEO best practices regardless of the CMS choice. This includes optimizing on-page elements, creating high-quality and relevant content, improving website speed and mobile-friendliness, obtaining quality backlinks, and ensuring proper technical optimization.

However, the choice of CMS can indirectly affect SEO depending on factors such as:

1. Features and Flexibility: Different CMS platforms offer varying degrees of customization, SEO plugins, or built-in SEO features. A CMS with robust SEO capabilities may provide easier implementation of certain SEO tasks.

2. Community and Resources: A popular CMS like Bitrix often has a large user community, active forums, and extensive documentation or resources available. This can be advantageous in terms of support, troubleshooting, and finding SEO-related guidance specific to the CMS.

3. Performance and Technical Optimization: Some CMS platforms may have better default performance optimization or built-in features like caching, responsive design, or structured data, which can indirectly impact SEO factors like website speed and mobile usability.

In summary, while the choice of CMS itself does not directly influence search engine rankings, factors such as CMS features, community support, and technical optimization can indirectly impact SEO efforts. Regardless of the CMS, SEO success relies on implementing best practices, creating valuable content, and continually evaluating and adapting strategies to improve website rankings in search engines.

Besides, SEO fundamentals are fairly similar across most search engines. Google uses the following stages to find and rank content: Crawling: Google uses "bots," or computer programs, to crawl the web and look for new or updated pages.

Bitrix may have a steeper learning curve, but that's no reason to throw in the towel. If you can't adapt your strategies to fit a new CMS, maybe it's time to reconsider your skills. The future of SEO will always be about content and engagement, regardless of the engine you choose. If you can't make Bitrix work, it's not the tool, it's the craftsman.
