Drastic Drop in Site Speed

The loading speed of the website and file downloads from it has significantly decreased (up to 30-40 kb/sec). However, when I use a VPN, everything works super fast, just like before. Lately, Google webmaster has been sending frequent notifications stating that it cannot load the site page and immediately removes it from the search results until the next attempt to reindex, which usually takes at least a week. This situation is not good at all and directly impacts the number of applications and calls received. It seems like we are experiencing the effects of the sovereign Internet and the upcoming launch of the firewall. It feels like they are shooting themselves in the foot with these measures.

Now, how can I try to solve this problem? One option could be to change the server or set up Cloudflare, which I am already using. Another potential solution could be installing a VPN on the site specifically for crawling purposes, although I'm not entirely sure about the technical aspects of this. The hosting provider's technical support team has not yet provided a response, so I'm still waiting for their input.

I would love to hear from others who have faced a similar issue and how they managed to resolve it. While I can use a VPN for now, I highly doubt that visitors will do the same, and I fear that the number of refusals will significantly increase, leading to even more consequences.

The fact that using a VPN resolves the problem suggests that there might be an issue with your Internet Service Provider (ISP) or network configuration.

Here are a few possible solutions you can explore:

1. Contact your hosting provider: Reach out to their technical support team and explain the issue you're facing. They may be able to troubleshoot the problem or suggest alternative server options.

2. Optimize website performance: Evaluate your website's performance and implement optimizations if necessary. This could include compressing large files, minifying CSS and JavaScript, optimizing images, and enabling caching. You can also consider using a content delivery network (CDN) like Cloudflare to improve loading speeds.

3. Consider changing servers: If the problem persists, you might want to consider switching to a different hosting provider or server location. Sometimes, certain servers or data centers may have better connectivity and performance.

4. Investigate the impact of sovereign Internet and firewalls: Research and understand the impact of these measures on your website's performance. It might be helpful to consult experts or forums where others facing similar issues can share their experiences and solutions.

5. Set up a VPN for crawling purposes: Installing a VPN specifically for search engine crawlers can help with indexing and ensure that your website is accessible during the reindexing process. However, it's important to carefully consider the technical aspects and potential implications before implementing this solution.

Given the potential impact on your business, it's crucial to actively seek support from your hosting provider and explore various solutions. Additionally, engaging with others who have faced similar challenges can provide valuable insights and guidance.

Just switch the host provider, and you're done.

Indeed, everything hinges on the target audience of the resource.

Consider creating a basic routing script that initially directs to the appropriate server based on the IP address.

Perhaps it's worth developing separate projects for the Russian Federation and for countries other than the Russian Federation.

It's crucial to analyze the specifics in this case.

Overall, insufficient data exists at the moment to give a definitive recommendation.

handle the hosting provider

There could be numerous causes, even if it's not the hoster's fault. For instance, someone might launch a DDoS attack on the ASN or on the shared server.

It is recommended to bypass the domain using Cloudflare for a smoother experience.

Here are some potential solutions and insights based on my experience in web development:

1. Server Change: Changing your server could certainly help improve loading speeds, especially if your current server is experiencing congestion or network issues. Consider researching and choosing a reliable hosting provider with robust infrastructure and good network connectivity.

2. Cloudflare Optimization: Since you're already using Cloudflare, make sure to optimize its settings and features for the best performance. Utilize Cloudflare's caching, minification, and security features to enhance both speed and security.

3. VPN for Crawling: Setting up a VPN specifically for crawling purposes is a viable option. By doing so, you can bypass any potential geo-restrictions or network limitations that might be affecting the crawling process. However, ensure that this approach complies with legal and ethical considerations.

4. Technical Support Engagement: It's crucial to communicate with your hosting provider's technical support team. Keep following up with them and provide detailed information about the issues you're facing, including the impact on SEO and user experience. Ask for specific actions they can take to address the problem, such as network diagnostics and optimization.

5. Community Insights: Engage with the web development and SEO communities to seek advice from others who may have encountered similar challenges. Online forums, social media groups, and industry-related events can be valuable resources for gaining insights and solutions from peers and experts.

6. User Experience Consideration: While using a VPN may be a temporary workaround for you, it's valid to be concerned about the impact on regular visitors. Prioritize the overall user experience, as slow loading speeds and accessibility issues can lead to increased bounce rates and decreased conversions. Focus on providing a seamless browsing experience for all users.
