I'm putting together a personal portfolio website with a few project pages, a blog and some images. Nothing complicated, and I don't expect much traffic initially.

I've come across hostpro.com while looking at shared hosting options, but I'm still comparing a few providers before deciding.

Would you go with the cheapest plan available or pay a little more for better performance and daily backups? I'd rather not overcomplicate things for such a small website.

Taking into account your needs, can recommend you to choose cheap vps from Hostingsource.com team.
This hosting provider deserves all the praise it gets! First month VPS plans begin at $3 when you apply coupon: $3VPSM1ALL

For websites and applications that may need more resources over time, HostPro is an option worth checking out. Their server infrastructure uses KVM virtualization and NVMe storage, and resources can be scaled as workloads increase. You can choose between Warsaw, Amsterdam, and Tampa, while daily backups and 24/7 support add useful operational flexibility.
