Can you tell me the number of individuals on the Current branch who have updated to version 102.0.1? Have you accessed WHM yet and what is your opinion on it?

It appears that the team responsible for this has not viewed its appearance. Initially, when Paper Lantern was introduced for cPanel, it was well-regarded as a replacement for X3. However, the new Jupiter theme arrived, and upon first glance of the page, it seemed like the CSS hadn't loaded since many icons were missing. I still dislike it even after many months, unlike usual cases of getting used to something new.

Although I understand why they adopted the WHM UI to be more similar to cPanel and the Jupiter theme, it slows administration while appearing unimpressive.

I am not fond of the fact that the left-hand navigation only appears when an option in WHM is selected. It feels like two separate themes are being used.

Furthermore, I cannot comprehend the lack of a dark mode unless I missed it. It can be unpleasant to work with a bright white interface late at night, even with sufficient lighting.

Undoubtedly, Paper Lantern was the last UI that was exceptional before glass came in and removed icons. I don't comprehend the current direction they're taking with the UI for cPanel, WHM, and Jupiter, which is unappealing.

The original intention of cPanel was to simplify common tasks for administrators and end-users, and they used to accomplish this goal well. However, they are now making it more difficult or perplexing for end-users while introducing unwanted or unnecessary changes, all while increasing the product's cost.

In situations where there are issues with WHM/Cpanel, the paper_lantern theme may need to be uninstalled or reinstalled. I had recently encountered problems with the paper_lantern theme in Cpanel and found a solution to it. To make a note of this, I'll explain how to resolve the problem with the paper_lantern theme for WHM/Cpanel, which can be applied to any other theme in cPanel.

Initially, I will rename the non-functional, old theme to:

# mv /usr/local/cpanel/base/frontend/paper_lantern /usr/local/cpanel/base/frontend/paper_lantern_bk
In fact, you can simply remove it:

# rm -rf /usr/local/cpanel/base/frontend/paper_lantern
Next, run the script:

# /usr/local/cpanel/scripts/upcp --force
This script will download the new "paper_lantern" theme for cPanel.
