Domain Registrar Restriction

1) When I log into my registrar panel, I noticed a message next to one of the domains saying "Registrar change is prohibited." I'm puzzled about why this restriction is in place and if there's a possibility to lift it.

2) Interestingly, I've been selling domains through another platform at a lower price and transferring them to a partner's control. It's quite a maze with all these partnerships involved.

I'm feeling quite perplexed about the distinctions between the main registrar's status, the partner who temporarily handles the registration renewal application, and the specific status "Change of registrar is prohibited." Maybe my question is not accurate, but it stems from a genuine misunderstanding.

When you encounter the message "Registrar change is prohibited" next to one of your domains, it typically means that the domain is currently locked to prevent unauthorized transfers. This restriction is in place to enhance security and prevent domain hijacking or unauthorized changes to the domain's registrar.

In your situation, where you've been selling domains at a lower price and transferring them to a partner, it's important to assess the relationships and responsibilities involved. The main registrar is the authoritative entity for the domain, responsible for managing its registration and ensuring compliance with domain regulations. On the other hand, the partner who handles the registration renewal application may have specific delegated authority to manage certain aspects of the domain on behalf of the registrant, such as renewal processes.

The status "Change of registrar is prohibited" could stem from various reasons, including recent transfers, legal disputes, or administrative holds. To gain a comprehensive understanding of this restriction, it would be advisable to explore the specific reasons behind it, which may require reaching out to the domain registrar for detailed clarification.

To address your perplexity, it's crucial to ensure that all domain transactions and partnerships comply with the terms and conditions set forth by the domain registrar. This involves understanding the roles and responsibilities of all parties involved and communicating effectively to ensure that domains are managed in accordance with regulations. Clarifying any misunderstandings and seeking guidance from the registrar can help shed light on the intricacies of domain status and restrictions, enabling you to navigate the domain management landscape with greater clarity and confidence.

The domain you want to work with is currently restricted in the control panel, typically put in place automatically when registering or transferring a gTLD. The action of changing the registrar is currently not allowed. If you want to proceed with any changes, you'll need to remove the lock from the domain. This will remove the restriction and allow you to make the necessary updates.

The current state of affairs has no impact on the functionality of the domain or website; it only prevents you from initiating a transfer to a different registrar.
The lock can be lifted through the control panel or through any reputable registrar.
