Hello, I have a forum website(invision board) and need some inputs to select a dedicated server. My forum has 8 million posts (Including posts and topics) in total.
Right now i am using Xeon 5260 2 bay chaisis, 12 gb ram, 400 gb SD. I just want to know how can we determine the server configuration based on what factors?
Do you know anything about Shieldeum.net or GTHost.com dedicated hosting services? Any experiences? Where can I read reviews about them?

I think with a forum of 8 million posts, you should prioritize a multi-core CPU and at least 32GB RAM, a large SSD for fast I/O. But I don't know how much peak traffic and bandwidth you need, and I don't know if Shieldeum or GTHost support DDoS well...
