Title: Issues with WordPress Site Access After Domain Change
Post by: bpakiub on Nov 03, 2024, 03:21 AM
I'm reaching out for assistance with a perplexing issue that has got me stumped. I'm providing a detailed account of the situation, as I'm struggling to pinpoint the root cause.

Initially, I had a Joomla-based site hosted on one of my domains, and it was rendering correctly at the specified domain address. However, I decided to migrate to a WordPress (WP) platform and created a new site. After deleting the Joomla site and uploading the WP site to the domain folder on my hosting provider, the site refuses to load at the intended domain.

Upon attempting to access the site, browsers display an error message stating that the page cannot be found (ERR_NAME_NOT_RESOLVED). I've verified that the DNS servers are correctly configured, and both the hosting and domain were purchased from the same registrar.

Despite my best efforts, the site remains inaccessible at the desired address. All databases, DNS settings, and other relevant configurations are in order.

Interestingly, the site loads correctly when accessed via a third-level domain. The hosting, subdomain, and primary domain are all hosted on the same server, which adds to the confusion.

I apologize for any ambiguity in my explanation and appreciate any guidance from those who can help me troubleshoot this issue.

Thanks in advance for your responses.

It's possible that the issue is related to the WordPress configuration rather than the DNS setup. Have you checked the WordPress site's URL settings? Make sure the site's URL is set to the correct domain, and that the permalink structure is set correctly.

Also, try checking the site's.htaccess file to see if there are any rewrite rules that might be causing the issue. If you're still having trouble, it might be worth enabling WordPress debug mode to see if there are any errors that can help you troubleshoot the issue.
