Do you have any thoughts on purchasing GoDaddy domains that are on sale at a discount through Afternic? On one hand, the fact that it hasn't sold despite being listed on the largest market could be seen as a downside. On the other hand, perhaps the sale price is too high and lowering it could attract new buyers.

Additionally, there is the issue of requesting help from Afternic support to remove an existing listing. Although their response time was slow when I reached out a month ago, they always fulfilled my requests. However, I didn't receive a response last month and I'm not sure if I did something wrong. Despite these potential challenges, what are your thoughts on taking advantage of domain sales on Afternic?

Don't be discouraged if a domain doesn't sell. As someone who has sold only 2% of my domains, I know firsthand that it's not uncommon. Remember, once you close the sale or encounter an issue, you can always get a refund.

Once you acquire the domain, reach out to Afternic to request deletion, although this may happen automatically. Don't stress too much about the details and just go for it if you're interested. If things don't work out, you have the option to return it.

GoDaddy's reputation has taken a hit in recent years and it seems they have become more focused on profit-making. If you do use them as a registrar, make sure to transfer your domain after two months to avoid being taken advantage of. They aren't completely useless but can be harmful.

As for their support, not much has changed. I had an issue with a ccTLD domain not being renewed and when I reached out, they insisted it was extended. However, the WHOIS had the wrong date and when I pointed this out, they redirected me to another WHOIS entry which wasn't helpful. I discovered that the registry hadn't updated their database, which caused a lot of unnecessary frustration.

When considering purchasing GoDaddy domains on sale through Afternic, there are a few factors to consider. The fact that a domain hasn't sold despite being listed on a large marketplace like Afternic could indicate that the price is too high. Lowering the price may indeed attract new buyers who may have been hesitant to purchase at the original price.

As for requesting help from Afternic support, it's unfortunate that your experience with their response time was slow in the past. However, if they have consistently fulfilled your requests in the past, it suggests that they are generally responsive to customer inquiries. It's possible that there was a delay or issue with your last request, so you may want to reach out to them again to clarify the situation.

few additional aspects to keep in mind.

Firstly, it's important to assess the value and potential of the domain you're interested in. Research factors such as the domain's relevance to your intended use, its marketability, and any existing traffic it may have. This can help you determine whether the sale price is justified or if it can be negotiated further.

Additionally, take into account the competition for similar domains. Assess whether the domain you're eyeing has comparable alternatives available at different prices. This can give you an idea of how competitive the market is and help inform your decision-making process.

It's also worth noting that not all domains will sell quickly, even on popular marketplaces like Afternic. The demand for domains can vary widely, and factors such as market trends, industry niches, and buyer preferences can influence how long it takes for a domain to sell. Patience and careful consideration are essential.

Regarding Afternic support, it's unfortunate that you didn't receive a response last month. Consider reaching out to them again to follow up on your request, ensuring that you provide all necessary details. Support teams can sometimes experience delays or miscommunications, so persistent communication is key.

Ultimately, taking advantage of domain sales on Afternic can be a good strategy, but it's crucial to approach it with a well-informed and measured mindset. Assess the value of the domain, research the market, and weigh potential challenges before making a purchase.
