Hey there! I was wondering if it's possible to transfer a domain to a different registrar without having to renew the registration for another year?
Do you know of any registrars that offer this option?

To my knowledge, transferring a domain to another registrar without renewing the registration for another year seems unlikely, as it would go against the interests of the registrars.
However, if you're looking to save some money during the transfer process, consider starting the domain transfer about a week before the registration deadline. This way, the fee for the transfer would be the same as the renewal fee for the domain registration.

It's worth noting that different registrars may have varying policies and fees regarding domain transfers, so be sure to do some research beforehand to find the best option for your needs.

The domain has automatic renewal enabled by default, but this feature can be turned off if desired. The registrar also mentioned that a new payment interface will soon be implemented, which will allow for regular or one-time payments.

If you're planning to transfer your domain from one registrar to another, keep in mind that the speed of the transfer largely depends on the original registrar's policies and procedures. After initiating the transfer process and logging into their personal account the following day, the author discovered that the domain status was "Pending Approval". After manual confirmation, the WHOIS data was updated within minutes.

Remember to check with both registrars before starting the transfer process to ensure that you understand each registrar's policies and avoid any unexpected fees or delays.

Yes, it is possible to transfer a domain to a different registrar without having to renew the registration for another year. This process is called a registrar transfer or domain transfer. Many registrars offer this option, including popular ones like GoDaddy, Namecheap, and Google Domains. When initiating a transfer, you usually have the option to choose whether to extend the domain registration period or not. It's best to check with your desired registrar to confirm their specific policies and procedures for domain transfers.
