The Dutch startup Anyone.com, co-founded by Reza Sardeha, formerly of Dan.com, has launched its debut product – Anyone Mortgage.

The mortgage product, which has been trialled in the Netherlands, is targeted at young people willing to offer the bank 49% or more of their financed mortgage. By co-owning the property, the mortgage provider will receive the same percentage of the property's equity when it is sold.

In the US, it is not unusual for a homeowner without the means to secure bank financing to lease their property for interest to a new owner who is willing and able to. However, the difference with Anyone Mortgage is that it is backed by established financial institutions, rather than cash-rich property owners. The company plans to introduce the product in Germany, Spain and the UK, before eventually expanding into the US market.

As an aside, anyone perusing the Anyone.com website may note that the domain name AnyoneMortgage.com has been registered. It is likely this is a defensive action taken by the company.
