Title: ChatGPT has submitted a UDRP for the matching .com domain name

Last December, ChatGPT's registrant obtained the chatbot's matching .com domain name almost a month after its launch and shortly after it had received acclamations from global press.

However, ChatGPT maker OpenAI, filed a UDRP with WIPO against chatgpt.com last week. Despite the likely outcome of this case, OpenAI may face difficulty, given that it was slow to file for trademark applications around the same time the domain name was secured.

Thankfully, WIPO allows complainants to claim common law trademark rights if the brand is well-known enough, which is the case with ChatGPT, as it had over a million users by the time the domain was registered.
